Murtha Madness Continues,
Pork Spender Extraordinaire

Madman John Murtha, the angry DemocRAT from Pennsylvania has been bestowed the honor of Porker of The Month of May, 2007, PNN (bolding mine):

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) named Representative John Murtha (D-Pa.) the May Porker of the Month for throwing a temper tantrum and threatening his colleagues over a challenge to a $23 million pet project in the Intelligence Authorization Act for fiscal year 2008.

Rep. Murtha sees Congress as a place where threats and power plays control spending decisions. While pushing the pork-filled 2006 defense appropriations bill through the House last year, Rep. Murtha unleashed his money-hungry wrath upon his colleagues, “If you vote against this bill, you won't have any input at all the next time.” The congressman barrels through legislation while inserting whatever he can to serve himself and his district. Since 2005, Rep. Murtha has obtained a total of $26,877,250 in pork.

And Human Events reports that:

Murtha quietly slipped into the Intelligence authorization bill two earmarks costing taxpayers $5.5 million. The beneficiary was a contractor headquartered in Murtha's hometown of Johnstown, Pa., whose executives have been generous political contributors to the powerful 17-term congressman.

This scandalous conduct would be unknown except for reforms by the new Democratic majority. But the remodeled system is not sufficiently transparent to expose in a timely manner machinations of Murtha and fellow earmarkers to his colleagues, much less to the public. It took Republican Rep. Jeff Flake of Arizona, the leading House earmark-buster, to discover the truth.

Jack Murtha, the maestro of imposing personal preferences on the appropriations process, looks increasingly like an embarrassment to Congress and the Democratic Party. But there is no Democratic will to curb Murtha, one of Speaker Nancy Pelosi's closest associates.

Yep, old, cantankerous, "our Marines 'covered-up' Haditha Murtha" sure is a heck of a guy...especially to his big business and corporate friends in his home district and contributors to his campaign war chest.

Remember - Murtha is the man who proudly proclaims the following:

"Every tax cut I voted against. My wife says, 'You shouldn't say that.'"

U.S. Citizen Joins al-Qaida,
Warns Of More Terrorist Attacks

Gutless Traitor and America-hater: Adam Gadahn

From All Headline News:

An American member of Al Qaeda has been charged with treason after releasing a seven-minute video threatening terrorists attack worse than September 11.

Adam Yehyie Gadahn, also known as Azzam al-Amriki, wore a white turban and robe and addressed President George Bush as he made the threats in English.

He demanded the total removal of all US military and spies from Islamic countries, that all Muslim prisoners held by the US are freed, and that the US end support for Israel.

He added that US troop withdrawal from Iraq alone would not be enough, that they would instead have to evacuate from all Islamic counties.

Last year Gadahn released another video demanding that all Americans convert to Islam but did not carry such threats.

In the video, which appeared on a Web site often used by Islamic militants, said, Gadahn said, "Your failure to heed our demands ... means that you and your people will ... experience things which will make you forget all about the horrors of September 11th, Afghanistan and Iraq and Virginia Tech."

More on the same story from al-Reuters:

"This is not a call for negotiations. We do not negotiate with baby killers and war criminals like you," said Gadahn.

"You will go down in history not only as the president who embroiled his nation in a series of unwinnable and bloody conflicts in the Islamic world but as the president who set the United States up on its death march."

Listing al Qaeda's demands, Gadahn said: "Pull every last one of your soldiers... out of every Muslim land. If so much as one single U.S. soldier or spy remain on Islamic soil it shall be considered sufficient justification for us to continue our defensive jihad against your nation and people."

"This is not a call for negotiations...." - Huh - someone better tell that to folks like Nanny Pelosi, Harry Reid and John Kerry - those good, little Eichmanns who seem to think that negotiating with terrorists, instead of killing them, is the method and disposition shown to such sub-humans as Gadahn.

Uh - Adam...GFY, die and burn in hell.

Tinky Winky Spotted At Gay Bar

The issue of Tinky Winky being gay is a persistent rumor that has been around for years. The late Jerry Falwell accused, and later apologized, for calling Tinky Winky gay.

Now, the Polish Government is investigating if Tinky Winky and other Teletubbies are promoting homosexuality to children:

Ewa Sowinska said she was concerned the popular show promoted homosexuality to unsuspecting minors.

Her remarks were immediately likened to those several years ago of the late US evangelist Jerry Falwell who accused Tinky Winky of being gay because he carried a purse.

This blog has received the below exclusive photograph of Tinky Winky in a gay bar dancing with an unidentified male, clad only in a revealing bikini-type speedo.

Currently the name of the bar is not being released nor is its location being disclosed.

A bar customer who asked not to be identified said Tinky Winky was drinking tequila shots and dancing all night long with the man in the photograph.

Raleigh Goatse, spokesman for the Teletubbies said, "Just because Tink was in a gay bar doesn't mean he's gay. My sources tell me he went to the bar with Lindsay Lohan. At some point in the evening, she disappeared leaving him alone. He was dancing by himself when a young man in a speedo joined him. There's nothing more to this story."

Po, Laa-Laa and Dipsy were unavailable for comment on their purple friend.

Leaving Iraq

What happens if we cut and run from Iraq, like the Democrats and Liberals advocate? Have the Dems and Libs thought this through? Have they considered the various outcomes of Iraq without the U.S. Military presence?

Democrats like Pennsylvania Democrat John Murtha promote a redeployment strategy, one in which the U.S. Military exits Iraq but - and get this - is ready to return to Iraq if required. Any Dem or Lib out there care to add a comment as to why leaving Iraq with the all too realistic possibility of having to return is such an ingenious approach?

What is the point of pulling out of Iraq only having to go back in? On what successful historic military precedent is this based?

If we leave and everything in Iraq turns hunky-dory, well, then we can say the Dems were right all along and Bush was wrong.

If we leave and everything in Iraq turns into a bloodbath of a civil war - the likes of which the world has never seen - we...go...back...in...? This is the only plan that's been offered by Dems and Liberals for the past four-plus years.

We've also heard from the Dems that it is not the business of the United State Military to referee the civil wars in other countries. New York Democrat Cluck Schumer said this not long ago. Okay - any Dems or Libs want to explain to me why, then, so many Democrats were critical of the Bush Administration for not involving our Military in Darfur's civil war?

Any Dem or Lib care to comment why, in retrospect, Bill Clinton said one of his biggest regrets is not involving the U.S. Military in the Rwandan civil war genocide?

Any Dem or Lib care to comment why it was okay for Clinton to involve the U.S. in the Serbia - Bosnia civil war? Was this okay because a Democrat occupied the White House?

Which civil wars, if any, should the U.S. involve itself in? What blueprint - political partisanship aside - does the Left want to use in deciding which civil wars we stay out of or which we get involved in?

And what about that number of dead Iraqi civilians? The John Hopkins study said over 650,000 Iraqis have been killed. The John Hopkins figure has been proven an absurdly high estimate and inflated, but let's say it isn't; let's pretend for the moment that the John Hopkins number is accurate.

How is that figure much different than Madeleine Albright telling "60 Minutes" correspondent Leslie Stahl on May 12, 1996, "that killing over 500,000 Iraqis is a price [that] is worth it"?:

Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: "We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?"

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it."

Then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright's quote, calmly asserting that U.S. policy objectives were worth the sacrifice of half a million Arab children, has been much quoted in the Arabic press.

The exploitation of the number of Iraqis killed is nothing more than a political tool for the Left.

Recall the pulpit pounding by the Lefties over the photo of Donald Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam Hussein from 1983. How is that any different than Albright toasting with North Korea's Kim Jong Il? How is it different than Nanny Pelosi meeting with Syria's Bashar-al Assad? Jimmy Carter embracing Yasser Arafat?

The answer is, there is very little difference. The U.S. needed an ally in Iraq and Hussein because of Jimmy Carter's foreign policy failures in not supporting the Shah of Iran, thereby allowing the Iranian government to become a rogue theocracy.

The Left always - always - plays selective outrage when they think it can help them politically. This is all it's about, they don't care about how many Iraqis or Americans die because to them it's nothing but ammunition to use for their own political benefit.

Is there a number of dead that is acceptable when a Democrat is in the White House that isn't acceptable when a Republican occupies it?

Donald Rumsfeld and Saddam Hussein shaking hands is bad. Nanny Pelosi and Bashar-al Assad, this is good.

Jimmy Carter and Yasser Arafat; Kim John Il and Madeleine Albright - both good.

See how it works - at least from the "Left" point of view. You don't see? Oh well, you're going to have to learn how to play Selective Outrage then.

Pelosi "Token" Comment Angers Token

Nanny Pelosi and Token

Speakeress of The House, Nanny Pelosi, called the Military Funding Bill "a token." Monterey Herald:

"This is like a fig leaf. This is a token," Pelosi said in a floor speech in which she contended that an opportunity had been missed. "This is a small step forward. We should have a giant step forward."

South Park community resident Token told reporters he is "astounded at the lack of sensitivity shown by Pelosi in her poorly worded statement."

No word yet if Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will be taking up Token's case as a matter of Pelosi's racial and discriminatory speech and behavior.

Cindy Sheehan Claims To Bid Farewell

"Na-na-nah-na, na-na-nah-na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye!"

Mother Sheehan, writing her fare-thee-well letter at, where else, Daily Kooks:

I have endured a lot of smear and hatred since Casey was killed and especially since I became the so-called "Face" of the American anti-war movement. Especially since I renounced any tie I have remaining with the Democratic Party, I have been further trashed on such "liberal blogs" as the Democratic Underground. Being called an "attention whore" and being told "good riddance" are some of the more milder rebukes.

I was the darling of the so-called left as long as I limited my protests to George Bush and the Republican Party. Of course, I was slandered and libeled by the right as a "tool" of the Democratic Party. This label was to marginalize me and my message. How could a woman have an original thought, or be working outside of our "two-party" system?

However, when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I held the Republican Party, support for my cause started to erode and the "left" started labeling me with the same slurs that the right used.

This is my resignation letter as the "face" of the American anti-war movement. This is not my "Checkers" moment,

Good-bye America ...you are not the country that I love and I finally realized no matter how much I sacrifice, I can’t make you be that country unless you want it.

"Good-bye America"? Where is she going? Is she moving in with Hugo Chavez?

What did she do other than serve as a polarizing tool, her feelings and emotions preyed upon and manipulated by the Liberals for their own agenda?

In some ways I feel sorry for her, but she brought so much of the "rebukes" on herself, by her words, by her actions, by saying President Bush wouldn't meet with her when he indeed had approximately a year before.

I told you so - that she would at some future point be abandoned by the Left, just like Lila Lipscomb (who?!) and so very many others.

I told you so - that the Libs would never tolerate her when she started applying her standard of criticism to the Left that she applied to the Right.

The Boulevard of Broken Dreams is full of people that the Left exploits, uses, abuses and then tosses aside. Add her name to a long list.

Cindy should have seen this coming a long, long time ago, but she allowed her emotions to overrule whatever objective logic she possessed.

U.S. Flags Desecrated In Boston

U.S. Flags burned in solar-powered trash compactor: The Boston Channel

Natick police said they were searching for whomever stuffed decorative American flags in trash receptacles around the town square and set them on fire.

Authorities said an off-duty officer noticed a trash receptacle on fire in a Natick park near the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority station at about 4 p.m. on Thursday.

"I will tell you -- I was very, very upset about this. This area, this park, Moran Park, is considered sacred ground by the veterans here in Natick," veteran John MacGillivray said.

By Friday afternoon, the 12 flags had been replaced.

"I am aware that people have a right to protest, but they don’t have a right to take property that doesn’t belong to them and that's here to honor the veterans. It is a disgrace," MacGillivray said.

The burning flags were in a solar-powered trash compactor.

"It had to be purposefully set. It is probably not that uncommon to have trash on fire, but it is a little more uncommon to find flags," said Natick Police Lt. Brian Grassey.

Natick veterans said it was especially disrespectful to burn the flags days before Memorial Day weekend.

"We decorate this park every Memorial Day. We have never had anything like this happen," said veteran Bob White.

Those responsible for the vandalism face felony charges for destruction of property for destroying the flags and damaging the trash compactors.

"Perhaps they should be cleaning up this park or something along that nature. If it is young kids, they need to be made aware of the consequences of their actions," MacGillivray said.

A veterans group said it would properly dispose of the flags.

Police are asking for help finding the person responsible for burning the flags. They ask anyone with information to call them at 508-647-9500.

Who would do such a thing? Some proud American? A Liberal? A Conservative? A War protester? If the responsible party is a citizen of the U.S. or immigrated here - and hates this country so much - no law is preventing them from leaving; permanently.

The person or persons responsible are not fit to live on the planet with the rest of us. No matter how much of a political divide some of us have with one another...to do the above is simply, without a doubt, sub-human, abnormal behavior.

Same Story, different source.

Hugo Chavez: No TV For You!

"No TV for you!"

The Little Dictator of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez - that guy the Lefties are so enamored with - is trying to shut down
Radio Caracas Television, the lone voice that serves as opposition to Chavez. BBC:

Mr Chavez refused to renew Radio Caracas TV's (RCTV) licence, saying it had tried to undermine his government.

RCTV and rights groups say Mr Chavez is limiting freedom of expression.

Employees of RCTV, Venezuela's most watched channel, embraced and chanted "freedom" as they prepared for a final night of programmes.

Some employees were vowing to occupy the station studios overnight, possibly to hinder the government takeover, the AFP news agency reported.

Make no mistake about it, the Left would love to do the same thing here in the U.S. with FOX News, Conservative Talk Radio - hell - anyone and any media who doesn't fully and completely agree with their rank and odious Liberalism. We've already seen their avarice in this matter by their whining about and bringing up the Fairness Doctrine.

No, Libs - you will never control the information society in the U.S., no matter how much your black little hearts desire.

Minneapolis Panhandlers Reaching
"Epidemic" Proportions

Because stories at the web site of the Minneapolis Socialist Tribune are "free subscription", I can't link directly to the story. Doing a search via Google with the words: 'minneapolis panhandling' and click on the link to the Minneapolis Star Tribune story titled "Minneapolis wants to get tougher with panhandlers". The story is written by Terry Collins.

Panhandling is nothing new in Minneapolis, its been a problem for a long time. So long, in fact, that panhandlers in Minneapolis - like many other cities - are now a new breed of "abusive panhandlers", meaning that if you don't fork over a dollar or two, you can almost be assured of a verbal assault and possibly a physical assault.

The Minneapolis panhandling problem has been brought up several times over several years at Minneapolis City Council Meetings. The reaction of the council members has basically been, "ho-hum; yawn."

Panhandling went unaddressed by the council and mayor. That is, until recently, when some Liberal politicians - all from Minneapolis - experienced panhandling first-hand.

From the Star Tribune story:

Three diners were sitting outside in downtown Minneapolis recently when a man walked up and asked for a dollar.

The three, Minneapolis Council Members Sandy Roy and Ralph Remington and state Senator Linda Higgins, politely declined.

The panhandler turned to Remington and went into a profanity-laced tirade.

What a riot, what hoot! It's funny when problems that Liberals ignore and turn a blind eye to end up staring them right in the face! The "great unwashed" Minneapolis citizens and visitors alike have complained about panhandling for years. The Minneapolis City Council did virtually nothing to deal with the problem.

But now - since panhandling affected three premiere Minneapolis Liberals - why...it's a big problem, one might even say it's reached "epidemic proportions" (cue ominous music).

Higgins, Remington, Roy: Three Minneapolis Liberals fighting panhandling, one panhandler at a time!

Where is the compassion for the panhandler from these three Liberals? By not contributing to the panhandler, they demonstrate their lack of compassion. Besides, Liberals are notoriously cheap with their own money. I have no doubt that had the same situation happened to three conservatives, the panhandler would have walked away with a couple of dollars.

The city council is considering a whole slate of brand new laws to deal with the miscreant panhandlers who dare ask members of the city council and a state senator for a dollar. Among them:

... banning verbal solicitation for money within 10 feet of a crosswalk, convenience store and liquor stores or within 50 feet of entrances to a park or sporting arena.

It also wants to prohibit panhandling in groups of two or more people and at night.

What a bunch of hardliners! We can only imagine that if Conservatives proposed these remedies the outcries of Liberal rhetoric, something along the line of, "there go those cold-hearted Conservatives again, 'dividing America' into two classes, the rich and the poor."

Minneapolis Libs used to tell themselves that panhandling isn't that much of a problem and those that complained about being affected by it were just a bunch of whiners. Oh - but that misperception all changed when the problem directly affected three Minneapolis Liberals, didn't it. My... how strange, how odd - rather a coincidental enigma, isn't it?

This is rich. Creamy, chocolaty, nougaty rich!

How to deal with the panhandling "epidemic"? Follow the advice of Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak:

Rybak advises those intimidated by panhandlers to call 911. "We want you to do that," he said, "I do it all the time."

R.T. Rybak, Mayor of Liberalapolis

Ryabak - the man is a joke. The most sissified meterosexual on the planet, afraid to take a firm stand on anything, promoting and putting cultural Kum Ba Yah collectivism ahead of fighting crime, including people being shot and killed in the streets, while he's busy pretending and wanting to be more politically important and significant a figure than his mayorial duties require of him. "911, this is R.T., I think I see a ghost in my yard and I'm scared. Send over a couple dozen squad cars right away." Someone buy this man a dress so he can wear the appropriate clothing.

I've been hit on by panhandlers. At times I've given them the spare change that I had and at other times I didn't, my decision was based on where I was going and in how much of a hurry I was in. Some panhandlers are fakes, doing their panhandling as a way of life and some earn a pretty good, tax-free living off it.

The city of Minneapolis is a textbook example of a city ruined by its Liberalism. Like any other Liberal city, its leaders never bother to think that liberalism could possibly be part of the problem.

But when that problem is experienced first-hand by a council member or state politician, "by god, then we have a problem!"

Minneapolis suddenly recognizes its problem with panhandlers. It's an epidemic I tell you, an epidemic!

Welcome to your real world Sandy, Ralph, Linda. All is well in Minneapolis, isn't it?

Smoker's Island

To one degree or another, the usual MSM outlets are covering this same story from Science Daily:

The Institute of Medicine, a branch of the National Academies, is suggesting additional restrictions on cigarette smoking. The report proposes a two-pronged approach to further reduce tobacco use in the United States.

Among many of their ideas, here are some highlights (bolding mine):

    * Changing federal law to give FDA (Food and Drug Administration) [the] authority to regulate tobacco products, including powers to restrict how they can be marketed.

    * Requiring all public and private health insurance plans to make coverage of smoking cessation programs a lifetime benefit.

    * Licensing retail outlets that sell tobacco products.

    * Launching additional efforts aimed at curbing youth interest in smoking and access to tobacco, including bans on online sales of tobacco products and direct-to-consumer shipments.

*Limiting tobacco advertising and promotional displays to text-only, black-and-white formats.

    * Requiring new, large pictorial warnings on the harmful effects of smoking -- similar to those required in Canada -- on all cigarette packs and cartons.

    * Requiring manufacturers to correct false or misleading information on products and at the point of sale.

    * Restricting the type or number of outlets that can sell tobacco products, and requiring them to display warnings and give a proportional amount of space to cessation aids.

    * Prohibiting tobacco companies from targeting youth for any purpose and urging them to redirect money they now spend on prevention to independent public health organizations.

    * "We propose aggressive steps to end the tobacco problem -- that is, to reduce tobacco use so substantially that it is no longer a significant public health problem. This report offers a blueprint for putting the nation on a course for achieving that goal over the next two decades."

    * As a long-term strategy, the report also recommends that FDA look into developing a plan to gradually reduce the nicotine content of cigarettes and thereby decrease their addictive power.

Cigarettes are a unique consumer product in that they contain carcinogens and other dangerous toxins and would be banned under federal public health statutes if these statutes did not expressly exempt tobacco, the report states.

So...because the substance is tobacco, that gives the Institute of Medicine the right to control the First Amendment rights of how cigarette makers want to advertise their product, limiting it to "text-only, black-and-white formats"?

And, because the substance is tobacco, that gives them - or the FDA - the right to decide who, where and what locations and types of businesses can and will be allowed to sell tobacco?

And cigarettes are not "a unique consumer product in that they contain carcinogens and other dangerous toxins".

Just look at the cosmetic industry, the dirty little secret in carcinogen-laden industries. Every-day items of common cosmetics are rife with carcinogens.

From the Cancer Prevention Coalition:

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health found that 884 of the chemicals available for use in cosmetics have been reported to the government as toxic substances.

A U. S. General Accounting Office report notes that the FDA has committed no resources for assessing the safety problems of those chemicals which have been found to cause genetic damage, biological mutations, and cancer. Because of minimal regulation, products plainly dangerous to your health can be, and are being, sold.

And from Co-Op America:

Suzanne was surprised to find out that nearly all of the personal care products she uses on her face and body contain ingredients suspected of causing cancer; potential neuro-, liver-, and immunotoxins; and suspected hormone disruptors that could cause birth defects in any children she might bear in the future.

Perhaps we should regulate and work towards banning steak, hamburgers, chocolate, pies and ice cream, making them less flavorful , thereby reducing their addictive qualities so people will stop using them. These items cause heart attacks, blood clots and other long term illnesses because they contain unhealthy fats and sugars. We need a "blueprint" to put the nation back on track for more healthy citizens. Far too many fatties out there.

And some of you think I "go too far" when I call these people Anti-Smoking Nazis. Nothing could be further from the truth. The only thing they lack is the goose-stepping and "sieg-heiling" each other - and I bet they perform these when the curtains and shades drawn.

I'm Your Ice Cream Man,

Where the f*ck is this guy on my street or neighborhood:

Ice Cream Man sold pot:

The jingle of the ice cream truck also meant pot sales on wheels...

The driver, a Mexican national, was arrested Thursday. Police on Friday were withholding his identity pending an expected arraignment on drug possession charges.

He was selling pot to school children, bad - very, very bad. On the other hand, selling it to me, not a problem.

I gotta go...I hear the jingle from an approaching Pot Ice Cream Truck!

"Calm Down There", Nanny Pelosi

Just "Take a deep breath and calm down," there, Nanny.

Speakeress of The House, Nanny Pelosi said,
Iraq "will begin to unravel

And she is in
deep, deep denial about the Dems loss on including a timetable and withdraw date in the war funding bill that passed. Poor Nanny ---

The Dems are the ones who are unravelling. And I have only one response:

John Edwards: "Gay people freak me out!"

In a startling admission, former Senator and U.S. Democrat Candidate for President, John Edwards, shocked audiences while on the campaign trail, telling them, "Gay people freak me out! They wear too much cologne, and that lisping thing - it just makes the hairs on my neck stand up. God forbid I'd ever have to be in a locker room or shower with 'them', why, when you're a good-looking silky pony hunk of beef like me, there's no telling what 'they' might do!"

"Gay people have their place and I respect that. They are great interior decorators and if it wasn't for 'them', why, we'd never have any artistic culture. From the great Greek dramas and tragedies to fashion to Broadway, why, none of it would exists without 'them'. Er - I mean, gay people. I just don't want to touch or be touched by anyone who's gay," said Edwards. "I mean, that would be icky!"

Okay. Edwards never said the above, at least not of which I'm aware.

The MSM continues giving Edwards a free pass on his previous statement of, “I’m not comfortable around those (gay) people” .

Kilian Melloy, writing in Boston's Edge notes:

The Blade article pointed out that no one in the Edwards camp has denied that Edwards spoke the words Shrum’s book attributes to him; rather, the denials from Edwards’ people have emphasized the claim that the quote was taken out of context.

Well, the Edwards campaign can put it "in context" and explain it any time they want. What's stopping them?

The New York Blade itemizes the Democrat candidates stands on gay issues:

Clinton and Obama also expressed support for civil unions in documents their campaigns provided the Blade.

“Hillary will work to ensure that all Americans in committed relationships have equal benefits — from health insurance and life insurance, property rights and more...”

“Barack Obama supports civil unions that give gay couples full rights...

Edwards [said] “Gay marriage is an issue I feel internal conflict about and I continue to struggle with it..”

He also said gays should be allowed to serve openly in the armed forces.

al-Sadr Returns To Iraq

Moqtada Sadr, the radical Iraqi Shia cleric, has appeared in public in Iraq for the first time in months.

And he looks so tan, rested and well-fed. I suppose hiding out in Iran, like the scared little mouse he is, did him some good.

He led a chant of
"No, no for Satan. No, no for America. No, no for the occupation. No, no for Israel."

What a lovable guy, huh? Who wouldn't want to negotiate with a stable and reasoned voice like Mookie

Cluck Schumer: "The Deer Tick
Ate My Homework."

U.S. Senator from New York, Democrat
Cluck Schumer - who never, ever, ever, ever misses an opportunity to exploit an issue, always willing to leap in front of a news camera and microphone - did NOT vote - did NOT vote - on the Military Funding bill earlier this week because... (dramatic pause)...

....he claims he was bitten by a deer tick and needs to be treated for Lyme disease:

Schumer is now undergoing a 21-day treatment with antibiotics, which can cause fatigue in some patients.

He said he hasn't noticed any symptoms and is being treated "to prevent it from developing into the disease."

No symptoms...huh...and he couldn't make it to a limo that could've taken him to the Senate to vote on the bill? What a wussy. Wear that skirt proudly, Cluck, wear it proudly!

Schumer's nemesis, the Deer Tick: This is all that's needed to keep a Dem away from a roll call vote.

John Edwards' Bumper Sticker Mentality

Adding to his recent gaffes (See post below this one), Presidential Wannabe John Edwards called The war on terror [a] slogan designed only for politics, not a strategy to make America safe. It's a bumper sticker, not a plan.

I need someone to leave a comment letting me know the facts, because I've forgotten some. Help me out...terrorism is something that is recently new, having only been used as a tactic by despots since the Bush-Cheney Administration was sworn into office - right?

National Public Radio's Little Liberal Eichmann, Mara Liasson couldn't wait to jump in to defend Edwards, during an appearance on 'Special Report with Brit Hume':

MARA LIASSON: That’s not what John Edwards said. He didn't say there aren't terrorists trying to hit us, he just doesn't like the way the president is fighting the war on terror. He didn’t say we shouldn't be having a fight against terrorism. I think this was one of those debates where both parties were completely talking past each other.

Yadda yadda, Mara, yadda yadda...

John Edwards "Not Comfortable
Around ' Those' People."

Bob Shrum is the The Wizard of Oz for the Democrat Party. He's run campaigns for many a Democrat politician, including "Junior" Gore and John Kerry.

Shrum says Democrat Presidential Candidate John Edwards didn't care for gay people: Washington Blade

Perennial Democratic strategist Bob Shrum drops a bombshell in his new book, according to a report in today’s Washington Post.

In the book, he says he asked former Sen. John Edwards at the outset of his 1998 Senate campaign, “What is your position, Mr. Edwards, on gay rights?”

“I’m not comfortable around those people,” was Edwards’ reply, according to Shrum.

He'll receive his Free Pass from criticism and barbs from the Lefty Politicians and Media because he's a Dem.

Had history shown us, oh - I don't know - say, Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain - uttering what Edwards said, I'm sure cocktail wiener Keith Olbermann would have had something lengthy, flowery and self-righteous to say about it - something written by someone other than Olbermann, no doubt.

But we'll hear no criticism of what Edwards said about "Those People" from Liberal Talk Radio, AirHead America or Rosie O'Moo.

No mention of his homophobia at GLAAD's Main Page or their 'stories to watch' page. Why so quiet, GLAAD? I wonder if a you'd treat his remarks differently if they'd been spoken by a Republican or Conservative.

Again we have Left Wing Hypocrisy redefining itself again, with Edwards getting a Free Pass for his comments.

The above is a parody of a political advertisement. It is not an actual political advertisement or an endorsement for any candidate, particularly and especially that of Al Franken.

Internet Tax Looming?

Four bills addressing Internet taxation are pending in Congress as House and Senate committees this week held hearings on the matter. The original moratorium banning Internet taxes will expire Nov. 1, unless lawmakers extend the date or institute a permanent freeze.

The Question is:
"To Renew or not Renew The Tax Ban " of Junior Gore's invention. CNET:

WASHINGTON--With only months left on a moratorium restricting state governments from taxing Internet access, the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday began a debate over whether the ban should be made permanent or allowed to lapse.

"If a moratorium is made permanent, there is a slippery slope where other industries will seek their own preemptions of state laws," said David Quam, director of federal relations for the National Governors Association.

From PC World:

The current ban should be extended temporarily, "if at all," said Senator Daniel Inouye, a Hawaii Democrat and chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee.

...other senators called for the tax ban to be made permanent. If the ban expires, consumers in some U.S. cities could pay up to an additional 30 percent for Internet access, said Annabelle Canning, vice president for state tax policy at Verizon.

Dems Gettin' Crazy With The Cheez Whiz?

Are the Dems Crazy with the Cheez Whiz...or WHAT ?!

From Politico.com: (bolding mine)

The new Democratic majority's zeal for congressional investigations goes well beyond Alberto Gonzales and the fired federal prosecutors.

Aided by a new investigative team including a former mob prosecutor and a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter, Democrats have launched more than three dozen probes of the administration ranging from the White House to obscure agency heads. The House Oversight Committee alone has conducted 20 investigations.

... many more (hearings) are mundane: inefficiency at the federal crop insurance program or conflicts of interest in FDA contracting. Some are pragmatic, such as an examination of food safety following outbreaks of illness caused by contaminated peanut butter and spinach.

Making mountains out of molehills, all for the political agenda of Liberalism. Time to officially blame Bush for the spinach and peanut butter. Good move, Dems, good move. More Dog and Pony Shows.

Go to the Politico link and read the rest of it.

Keith al-Ellison Says Don't Worry, Be Happy
Regarding Pew Research Poll

The Pew Research Center said AP:

One in four younger U.S. Muslims said in a poll that suicide bombings to defend their religion are acceptable at least in some circumstances, though most Muslim Americans overwhelmingly reject the tactic and are critical of Islamic extremism and al-Qaida.

Responding to this with a very subjective view is Minnesota U.S. Representative, Keith al-Ellison, first Muslim elected to Congress, saying; ABC:

"It's not an alarm. Nothing to be alarmed about..."

Keith al-Ellison: "Don't Worry, Be Happy!"

James Metzen Nabbed, DWI...
Another MN Democrat, Driving Intoxicated!

We have another one, ladies and gentlemen! (sound boxing bell). Sound the fanfare, hit those trumpets hard!

After wrapping up the Minnesota State Legislative Session, many lawmakers and their entourages hit a local bar to celebrate their completion of another session of furthering Nannyism.

One of the party-goers was Minnesota Democrat, State Senator and President of the State Senate
- James Metzen who was nabbed early Wednesday morning for driving while intoxicated. His Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was .15, almost twice the state's legal limit of .08:

"Sen. Metzen was given no special treatment, nor did he request any special treatment," [Police Chief Michael] Messerich said. "He was treated like anyone else."

Metzen's attorney, Paul Rogosheske, told the Star Tribune of Minneapolis the senator had been at Kelly Inn, a favorite haunt of the Capitol crowd, before heading home.

In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Larry Pogemiller, Metzen apologized "for my lapse in judgment."

He said he had attended a celebratory gathering with his peers after leaving the Capitol and used bad judgment.

Metzen has drawn attention for alcohol-related issues before.

In 2004, a Twin Cities television station aired a hidden-camera report on drinking at the Capitol. At one point, the footage showed a House member and lobbyists drinking in Metzen's office.

"Lapse in judgment," ... heh, good one Jim, good one. It seems that lately, we've been having an "epidemic of judgment lapses" by our elected officials. An "epidemic" of these things. An epidemic I tell you.

Jim Metzen: Gonna Party Like It's '1999': "Heeeeey, yeah! The shlession is over!
Yaaaaaa-hooooooo! Gimme another Double! Toga! Toga! Toga!"

He was treated like anyone else? According to the story, he was stopped around 2AM, and
by 4AM his wife picks him up?

Add another name, Metzen, to the Kennedy, Mondale list of Dems who get off easy when liquored up behind the wheel.

The acronym DUI needs to be changed to DWD, Driving While Democrat.

Bee And Butterfly Announce
They Are Gay Couple

The Nasonex Bee and Lunesta Butterfly have confirmed they are a same sex couple and have been for quite some time. The couple, appearing before the press last night, "came out" to the public on their own, confirming rumors about their relationship that surfaced early last summer.

The Bee and Butterfly made the announcement prior to attending the premiere of the latest Lunesta commercial at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.

"We want other animated images in television commercials, especially those representing the pharmaceutical industry, to know that it's okay to be gay," said the Butterfly.

"We're out of the closet, bzzz bzzz bzzz, and very happy about it, bzzz bzzz bzzz," said the Bee.

Hollywood Super Agent to the stars, Jim McJim, said the pair is taking a big risk. "Traditionally, a celebrity coming out of the closet can risk future work and job offers. But it didn't adversely impact Rosie O'Donnell's career," said McJim, CEO of McJim Creative Artists, a talent agency representing some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Andy Dick, Ellen DeGeneres, Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Sandra Bernhard and Ricky Martin.

"We're happy, bzzz bzzz, and have been in a committed relationship for some time, bzzz bzzz," said Bee.

"We really want to be parents," said Butterfly, "and in the near future we're planning on adopting a Namibian child, just like Angelina and Brad."

Presidential Ratings

End Of Term Ratings For Presidents:

Jimmy Carter left office in 1981 with a 31% approval rating (Same link as above).

"Overall Rankings" rankings post-1950: (info.please) give Jimmy Carter a four year All Time Low Rating of 34% and and All Time High of 75%.

Bill Clinton's All Time Low Rating is 37% and his All Time High is 73%.

ABC, however, - which oddly supplied the numbers for the second link, Info.please - here lists Clinton's Overall All Time High as 65%.

The same ABC link above also cites that "45 percent, say Congress did the right thing by impeaching Clinton."

Democrats Drop Iraq Timeline
And Pull-Out Date

Are you Libbies taking this one hard? Fuming? Stomping Mad? Kicking and Screaming, Kicking Your Feet and Rolling Around on The Floor Throwing Tantrums, wonder why your anti-War leaders and candidates - that you voted for last November - abandoned you?

Heh - good. It's Funny when The Far Left Fringe doesn't get what it wants! It's funny when those suffering from Bush Derangement Syndrome hold their breath until they turn blue. There, there little Liberals...you just go right ahead and have your little hissy fits. Maybe, just like after the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections, you need some counseling and therapy to cope with this. You poor things.

I could rub it it more...but just knowing that you're gnashing your teeth and throwing fits...well, during times like this I just sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

From AP:

WASHINGTON — Flinching in the face of a veto threat, Democratic congressional leaders neared agreement with the Bush administration today on legislation to pay for the Iraq war without setting a timeline for troop withdrawal.

John Edwards said "We need to stand our ground against this president." Yeah, whatever John - is it time for another $400 haircut?

Passage of Bill to fund both Iraq and Afghanistan likely by Friday, and:

Despite the concession, Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada refused to characterize the move as a defeat for Democrats, many of whom strongly supported including the withdrawal timetable in the war funding bill.

Yeah - whatever you need to tell yourself Harry, whatever you need to tell yourself...

Tiepose And Phixes

I need to apologize - and accept most of the responsibility - in recent typos and such that have appeared in the last few posts.

The Blogger system, which is free - and I thank them for providing those of us who use their service - is changing a few of the way they do things and trying out new gizmos and gadgets.

One of these items is how those of us using Blogger go about saving our Draft articles prior to publishing. And my "Save" has a few hiccups in it and this is also a small part of the problem.

I try to catch typos, font size errors and glitches, etc as well as I can, but some do indeed fall between the cracks.

Is there a Democrat out there who may want to sponsor a special program for me because of this proofreading disability from which I appear to be suffering?

I just htought d'I mention this in case some of you were owndering s'tahw pu. ! sknahT

Minnesota's Oppression of
Cigarette Smokers Continues

"If Ireland can ban cigarette smoking, we can do it too,"

- said Long, Loooooong Time Minneapolis House of Rep., Democrat Phyllis Kahn, supporter of the bill and Grande Dame of Nannyism, on the Minnesota House Floor during the No-Smoking Bill debate on May 11, 2007. Kahn is also the Representative who proposed tax increases on cosmetic surgery.

So...no offense to Ireland...but Minnesota is now modeling its state laws and legislative procedures after Ireland?

The "Freedom To Breathe" bill - the name bestowed on our No-Smoking Law - was signed into law on Wednesday, May 16th, by Minnesota RINO Governor Tim Pawlenty Hatch. The bill goes into effect October 1, 2007.

The primary co-sponsors of the bill are State Representative Tom Huntley and Speaker of the House Large Marge Kelliher.

Note To Margie: maybe you want to put down the box of Cheese Doodles, fudge
sundaes and Dove Chocolates if you're so concerned about health, especially your own. You certainly look like you can afford to shed a few pounds, Margie.

The Democrat Political Majority in the Minnesota Legislature and many RINOs take its Nannyism attitude towards its citizens seriously. They specialize in intruding into private property rights and individual rights.

The bill outlaws smoking in bars and restaurants state-wide. The bill also outlaws smoking in American Legion and VFW (Veterans Of Foreign Wars) private clubs, bingo halls and virtually all other public places.

The hardest hit businesses will be the small town establishments where people gather for a beer, a pizza and a cigarette.

Smoking will still be permitted in tobacco shops, American Indian ceremonies and Indian Gambling Casinos, the Washington County Veterans Camp, family farms and - are you ready for this - on stage by actors.

So let me understand this; the health of non-smokers on family farms, non-smoking actors and patrons of the theater are inconsequential according to this bill? Apparently there's no "leveling of the playing field" in these areas. Such compassionate Nannyism.

Back to the theater; the legislature, via this bill, is telling us that is it vital and "artistically critical" that if a character smokes it's allowable on stage. What about the health of a non-smoking actor, a stagehand or the theater patron in the front row who may inhale one molecule of second-hand smoke?

The only logical conclusion one can draw is that the sponsors of this bill and its lobbyists - like the American Lung Association - don't care about the health of these people. Remember, the ALA and other self-righteous No-Smoking Nazis have told us there is "NO safe amount of exposure to second-hand smoke! NONE!"

Nor do they care about the health of non-smokers who visit or are employed by
Indian Gambling Casinos. Que Sera, Sera.

How To Circumvent This Law

Here's the "out" for any bar, nightclub, tavern and pub to allow smoking; become a "Bar and Theater."

Build a small stage, one which adheres to the minimum of what state code defines and requires, and allow the actors - the bar patrons - their right as Performance Artists to recite lines from plays from the stage whenever they feel the need to fire up a cigarette.

"Performance Artists" are protected by the First Amendment and if it's critical for said Performance Artist to smoke, why, who can say it should not be allowed?

Who would want to deny any female bar patron who wanted a cigarette from reading from scripts provided by the bar, scaling the stage, performing Lady Macbeths' ..."out, out damned spot! Out, I say...," without a Virginia Slim Light Menthol 100 or a Misty hanging out of her mouth?

"Othello" not chain-smoking Kent Golden Lights? Banish the thought of it.

Why, if I'm at a Bar-Theater and want a cig with my run 'n coke, I'll tear a page out of Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple" and step up to the stage:

I, as Oscar Madison, enter the apartment he shares with Felix Unger:

"Felix," yells Oscar, lighting up a Marlboro, "is dinner ready?"

"Tonight, all the customers at the Hot Spot Bar And Grille perform 'Our Town'."

Who can argue
with a Bar-Theater and its group...because it's Performance Art.

Perhaps bars, clubs and nightclubs could declare themselves a "farm" by adding a few chickens, some corn stalks and pole beans to their indoor decor: "Hey, we're not a bar. We're a family farm that just happens to have a bar and dance floor."

Smoking Okay On Patios... For Now

Smoking will still be allowed on outdoor patios of bars and restaurants, at least until next year's legislative session. I have a feeling patios will be the target of the No Smoking Nazi-Nannies next year. The only reason patios were excluded from the current version of Freedom To Breathe is that proponents of the bill knew that including language banning smoking on patios would be a bill-killer.

An earlier version of Freedom To Breathe included an option for bars and restaurants to have a separate, walled and enclosed smoking room. This option was killed by the Dems.

Democrat Michael Paymar, on the Minnesota House Floor during the No-Smoking Bill debate on May 11, 2007, said:

"[This bill] doesn't go far enough! It still allows smoking on patios!"

Paymar is another one, like Large Marge, who could easily drop anywhere between 30-50 pounds of excess weight. But he's a good Socialist, so his anti-smoking rhetoric is embraced by other good Democrat Nazi-Nannies who are more than willing to overlook any adverse health effects related to his obesity.

Democrat Al Juhnke, on the Minnesota House Floor during the No-Smoking Bill debate on May 11, 2007, said:

"There is no uniformity in this bill. One city may not permit patio smoking and the adjoining city permits patio smoking."

Oh my god, Al - can you work the word "epidemic" into your rhetoric - say, something along the lines of, "the fact that there's no uniformity defining patio smoking is an epidemic!"

Watch out - come next year's session the Nannies in the State Legislature will "level the playing field" of outside patio smoking.

It's Not About Smoking

Beyond the previously mentioned losers - the small town bars and Mom 'N' Pop establishments - this bill ensures lower revenues for charitable gambling. Fundraising for groups such as Firefighters and local youth sports teams - among others - will all receive less money because a primary customer base of bars - smokers - will be less in number. Instead, smokers will stay home or will be found at the Indian Casinos where none of the charitable gambling venues exit.

Business owners and homeowners will likely face future increases in property taxes in order to make up for these deficiencies. But so what, this is what Democrats and RINOs live for and do; meddling and intruding in things that the free market and the rights of private property should decide and resolve on its own.

This bill isn't about health and it's not about second-hand smoke. The bill is nothing more than a small minority of groups - individual people and organizations - with deep pockets who flushed enough money into their like-minded lobbyists and political puppets who are only too eager and subservient to do their bidding.

They have successfully destroyed private property rights for the people who own these businesses. It may not matter that some of the No-Smoking Nazi-Nannies aren't even offended by cigarette smoke, it's only that they are swelled with self-power and inflated with a Nanny mentality.

Dennis Ozment, Republican from Rosemount, on the Minnesota House Floor during the No-Smoking Bill debate on May 11, 2007, said:

"[The bill] is a mean bill. It is mean-spirited to smokers."

Yes it is, Dennis, yes it is. But being mean has never stopped a Nannyism mentality is the past and it's unlikely to stop it in the future.
