The Lily White Democrat Convention
Recall DNC Chairman Mao Howard Dean's words of August, only three weeks ago: "If you look at folks of color, even women, they're more successful in the Democratic party than they are in the white, uh, excuse me, in the [laughs] Republican party." Yeah, right Chairman Mao.
Other than Pickles The Dangerous Washerwoman Obama, where be all 'da Black Folk speaking at the Lily White Democrat Convention? There aren't any.
I admit I've only watched the closing few minutes of Pickle's speech on Monday night and watched most of Hillary Clinton's Tuesday night speech. But other than The Dangerous Washerwoman and her dragging out on stage her two Little Chocolate Chips, there's been only White Folk on stage making speeches.
Where's Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? Both are supposed to be leaders within the Democrat Party. The Affirmative Action Candidate decided long ago to throw them under the bus and distance himself from them because he perceives them to be polarizing figures who cannot help his candidacy.
Where's Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's father-figure? He's under the bus with Jesse and Al, chewing on the rubber tires.
Where's Democrat Congressman William Jefferson? Sure, he faced criticism for having $900K in his refrigerator freezer, but in the minds of Democrats his offense is a "so what" moment that shouldn't disqualify him from a major role at the convention. Why isn't he a keynote speaker?
Charles Barkley supports Obama, why wasn't he given a chance to speak? He could have brought a lot of excitement to the convention.
Where's Charlie Rangel? Harold Ford? Jocelyn Elders? Are they "too black" for Obama? Could be. It can't be that Elders represents the "old Democrats" because Obama proved his campaign isn't about newness when he picked 40-year D.C. Insider Joe Biden as his running mate.
Where's Colin Powell? He's supporting The Affirmative Action Candidate. Oh, I bet his invitation to speak at the convention was lost in the mail. Remember how Democrats hated Powell? Now they're pretending to love and embrace him because he's voting for The Illinois Muslim. But four years ago these same Obama Cultists wanted him jailed for treason. Nothing quite says hypocrite like being a member of the Democrat Party, does it?
Yes, I'm aware that Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick (they guy Obama plagiarized) had a few minutes on stage. But he's an unknown except to anyone who is a political junkie. Ask ten people on the street if they know who he is and ten people will tell you they've never heard of him. Ask those same ten people if they know of Jackson, Sharpton, Barkley or Wright and I'm guessing at least half of them will answer in the affirmative.
Obama touts his candidacy as being new, one of change; yet all we've seen are the same, staid, stale White Folks speaking at the convention: Fat Ted Tumor Head Kennedy, Nanny Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Dennis Kookcinich and Mark Warner - all pasty Lily White Democrats. And let's not forget horse-faced Chelsea Clinton either.
Wednesday night had speeches from two more old-guard, dull, Lily White Male Democrats: Bill Clinton and Joe Biden.
So much for change, so much for hope, so much for People of Color.
The Democrat Party is the Lily White Party. You needn't believe what I write. Believe your own eyes. All you have to do is watch the Lily White Convention.
