Obama's AIPAC Speech Draws Ire Of Arabs
From al-J on Obama and AIPAC:
Arab leaders have reacted with anger and disbelief to an intensely pro-Israeli speech delivered by Barack Obama, the US Democratic presumptive presidential nominee.
Obama told the influential annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Council (Aipac): "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel and it must remain undivided."
His comments appalled Palestinians who see occupied East Jerusalem as part of a future Palestinian state.
Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator, told Al Jazeera on Thursday: "This is the worst thing to happen to us since 1967 ... he has given ammunition to extremists across the region".
"What really disppoints [sic] me is that someone like Barack Obama, who runs a campaign on the theme of change - when it comes to Aipac and what's needed to be said differently about the Palestinian state, he fails."
"I say to Obama ... please stop being more Israeli than the Israelis themselves, leave the Israelis and Palestinians alone to make decisions required for peace."
Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, rejected the statement, saying: "We will not accept an independent Palestinian state without having Jerusalem as the capital."
[...]
Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for Hamas, the largest Palestinian resistance group, also condemned the speech, saying on Thursday: "These statements slash any hope of any change in the American foreign policy.

Obama, hours after securing his party's nomination on Wednesday, had gone on to say the US bond with Israel was "unbreakable today, unbreakable tomorrow, unbreakable for ever" and drew a standing ovation.
He told the gathering of one of US politics' most influential lobbying groups that, as president, he would "never compromise when it comes to Israel's security."
He also said any deal between Israelis and Palestinians should preserve Israel's identity as a Jewish state and that Hamas should be isolated and pledged to approve $30bn in aid to Israel over the next 10 years.
[...]
Obama also had harsh words for Iran, vowing to work to "eliminate" the threat it posed to security in the Middle East and around the globe.
"There's no greater threat to Israel or to the peace and stability of the region than Iran," he told the Aipac assembly.
Calling for "aggressive, principled diplomacy" with Tehran, he also warned he would never take the military option off the table in guaranteeing US and Israeli security.
“I think it would be a profound mistake for us to use nuclear weapons in any circumstance,” Mr. Obama said.
Here's why this story is important. The Left - not Democrats in general, but the Insane Liberal Clown Posse as I refer to the Far Left Fringe - has nothing good to say about AIPAC. To them, AIPAC is nothing but a bunch of neocons, their code word for those they consider a divisive, pro-war, evil Jewish lobby and their American allies. The ILCP is consumed with demonizing and vilifying AIPAC and any politician that supports AIPAC, especially when those politicians are Republicans.
I know when people visit a blog or site and see a lenghty article their eyes sort of glaze over, thinking, "oh, I don't want to read something that long." I do this too. Recently I published a piece on Obama receiving an A+ Grade from AIPAC. Obama knows if he hopes to win the General Election he needs the support of groups like AIPAC and he must appear friendly to our ally Israel. This is nothing more than him posing and posturing because his actual record is far more pro-terrorist than it is Israel-friendly.
Why does the ILCP hate Israel so much? I don't know for certain that the ILCP is a bunch of anti-Semites, although that subgroup certainly exits within the ILCP. The ILCP, in general, simply hates any U.S. ally because they are our ally.
Obama has made his position perfectly clear on whom he will side with should be become the president. He will side with domestic terrorists like Weather underground's William Ayers. He will side with state sponsors of terrorism like Syria, Iran and North Korea. He will side with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of whom he said he is willing to meet with without any preconditions. He will side with Hezbollah, the PLO and Hamas of whom he has been an active fundraiser. These are facts, they are supported by his words and his actions.
Writing in the Coastal Post, Edward W. Miller, MD, called AIPAC a "dangerous parasite":
"AIPAC, our dangerous parasite never sleeps."
The Affirmative Action Candidate cannot fool anyone into now believing that now he's suddenly pro-Israel and will work with American allies and friends. He can fool his Cult Followers, but there is no degree of difficulty in doing that because his Cultists are blind to both truth and facts. Obama cannot fool Americans who question his patriotism, he cannot fool American Jews, he cannot fool the Israeli government, he cannot fool American allies.
