Roland Burris Must Go

Hey Hey, Ho Ho. Roland Burris Must Go!
Hey Hey, Ho Ho. Roland Burris Must Go!
Hey Hey, Ho Ho. Roland Burris Must Go!

Disgraced, impeached, forced from office, ex-Illinois Democrat
Governor Rod "No reasonable offer bribe will be refused"
Blagojevich

Democrat Roland Burris, appointed to the U.S. Senate vacancy - created when Democrat Barack Hussein Pbama, Junior stole the election - by disgraced-ex-Illinois Democrat Governor Rod "I got something to sell, you wanna buy it?" Blagojevich, must go.

Illinois State Attorney investigating Burris for perjury. FOX News:

The Illinois state attorney's office is investigating U.S. Sen. Roland Burris for possible perjury charges in connection to testimony he gave to the House panel investigating impeachment of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, as the senator admitted he tried to raise money for the governor.

    [...]

The news comes after the senator again discussed fundraising conversations.with the governor's brother. Speaking to reporters in Illinois on Monday night, Burris said Rob Blagojevich called him in October on "a routine fundraising call" and asked him if he'd be willing to help the governor raise cash.

Transcript has Burris dancing around specifics. Chicago Sun Times:

Sen. Roland Burris says the transcript of his Illinois House impeachment committee testimony proves he is not a lying little sneak.

It doesn't. But judge for yourself. Here's the excerpt Burris says exonerates him:

    [...]

But here's what proves he is a lying little sneak.

While Durkin might not have asked Burris to clarify his reference to "friends," his fellow Republican, Rep. Jill Tracy of Quincy, did return to the subject.

    Just watch Burris dance.

Read the whole story. Excerpts cannot do it justice, and read how Burris danced and parsed in his responses.

Blago and Burris: The Good Old Payoff Days!
(good times...good times)

Burris
gives permission to colleagues to investigate him. Why, isn't that nice? The criminal consents to being investigated. Thank you very much, Roland, that you are "open" to an ethics investigation. How generous of him - yes? Chicago Tribune:

U.S. Sen. Roland Burris said today he is open to a Senate ethics investigation into how he got the Senate seat from ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich and that he has reached out to a Sangamon County prosecutor who is reviewing Burris' sworn testimony before Illinois lawmakers.

Burris comments came less than 24 hours after he acknowledged he sought to raise campaign funds for Blagojevich at the request of the governor’s brother at the same time he was seeking the appointment to the Senate seat previously held by President Barack Obama.

It was the first time Burris has publicly admitted trying to raise money for Blagojevich. Previously Burris has left the impression that he always balked at the issue of raising money for the governor because of his interest in the Senate appointment.

In comments to reporters after appearing at a Democratic dinner Monday night the senator several times contradicted his latest under-oath affidavit that he quietly filed with the Illinois House impeachment panel earlier this month. That affidavit was itself an attempt to clean up his live, sworn testimony to the panel Jan. 8, when he omitted his contacts with several Blagojevich insiders.

    [...]

Republicans today renewed their call for Burris to resign, adding that the newest revelation that he attempted to fundraise for Blagojevich only magnified his untrustworthiness.

Democrats were largely quiet on the issue of Burris voluntarily leaving office, with Gov. Pat Quinn saying through and aide that it is a call only Burris can make. State Rep. Jack Franks (D-Woodstock) however called on Burris to immediately step down, and contacted U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's office to ask that an ethics investigation be launched against Burris. Such a move could forcefully remove him from office.

I bet you too, as I am, are SHOCKED to learn that Democrats were "largely quiet on this issue of Burris voluntarily leaving office." It sounds like State Rep. Jack Franks is the only one with enough guts to point out the stench in his own party and, at the very least, Burris' "appearance of impropriety"

Comments:
Ahhhh. Probably just should keep Burris. Don't give the Demotards another chance to appoint an even bigger idiot. I still haven't gotten over the fact that Frankendick is going to installed as a senator. Fuck. Watching Rosie O'moo drag her raspy tongue very slowly over a dead dog's ass sounds more appealing.

I can see keeping Burris in there for no other purpose than to keep this issue alive for the next two years. That's how the Libs operate. Force Burris out close to the 2010 election, maybe?
