Arlen Specter Returns To Democrat Party
Senator Specter became a Democrat. Like gays coming out of the closet, Senator Specter came out of his.
Specter's switch is one only of self-sustaining...some would say selfish...because he knows he can't win the Republican primary. He's being challenged by a real Conservative, Pat Toomey. USA MacPaper:
In a Rasmussen Reports poll out this morning, [Arlen Specter] the Pennsylvania Republican lags behind GOP primary challenger Pat Toomey by more than 20%. Just 30% of Republican voters in the Keystone State say they would vote for the incumbent, while 51% are throwing their support behind Toomey.
Furthermore, 55% of voters have an unfavorable view of the incumbent senator, according to the poll. Rasmussen Reports calls those stats "stunningly poor" for a veteran such as Specter, who's spent nearly 30 years in Congress' upper chamber.
Specter squeaked out a primary victory over Toomey in 2004, and next year's rematch is already gearing up to be one of the nastier battles in 2010.
Conservatives have finally had enough of the Moderates and RINOs diluting the party. I agree, and what took so long?
Arlen Specter is 79 years old. The Dems don't mind taking on someone who is 79 years old, although John McCain - at 72 - was said by the Dems to be "too old."
The Dems will take anybody...anybody. Hell, they still have the drooling potted plant in a wheelchair named Tim Johnson (South Dakota) in the U.S. Senate. As long as some Dem can rig a string to Timmy's arm and pull up a "yea" every time the Dems put up a vote it doesn't matter how they get it.
The Dems will take anyone...anyone...as long as there's a pulse and a heartbeat.
Thank you for leaving the Republican party Arlen. What took you so fucking long is the real disappointment.

I mean, come on! Really? A moderate leaves the "Big Tent" party, and you don't see where it's a sign that maybe, just maybe, the GOP has gone a little too far into the Twilight Zone? Maybe you need to consider that, in driving away anyone with a viewpoint that isn't completely fucking batshit insane, you're driving yourself further into obscurity.
Perhaps it's time to reconsider your own viewpoint, and ask if you aren't aiming straight for that iceberg.
So, uh, good luck with that...
I'm going to be diplomatic and tactful with my response to you. Maybe you can answer or reply to my questions. Then again, maybe you won't because I know that my using facts with a Lib like you is like garlic to vampires.
You appear to think that the Republican party is driving itself into obscurity by not accepting Arlen Specter as he is, a moderate...a RINO.
How is this any different than the Extreme Liberal Wing wanting nothing to do with Joe Lieberman, yet the same Far Leftwingbats accept Harry Reid.
Joe Lieberman is rated far, FAR FAR FAR, more Liberal than is Reid. Yet who got the boot? Lieberman. Why? Because he agreed with Bush on the war. That's the only reason.
Please go to http://www.ontheissues.org/
and review the voting records of Lieberman and Reid and you will find Lieberman's voting record is far more liberal than Reid.
BTW, did you notice your new Democrat Specter sided with Repiublicans today VOTED AGAINST your Dear Leader on the budget?
Bwa ha ha! Thanks for the laughs, Cynic. Come back and comment when you recover from your shaming!
Oh yes, that give Cynic something else to think about too, that Specter is spying on the Dems! LOL! Thanks for that! Excellent!
See, the war was the overriding concern of a lot of people. We've lost the lives of over 4000 servicemen, wasted trillions of dollars, destroyed our standing in the rest of the world, and for what? We had no reason to go in, and we have no reason to still be there. So, yes, a lot of people felt a lot of resentment with Lieberman.
But I have to agree with you on one thing: I get the same kick out of watching the Far Left go up in flames over Lieberman as I do watching you rant and scream over Specter.
(By the way, if you'd actually been reading stuff by the Far Lefties, you'll see that they aren't any happier with Reid than they are with Lieberman. But that's OK. I don't want to expose you to too many new ideas at once. Your head might explode.)
Incidentally, your mention of Specter voting against the budget is exactly my point. You're screaming and crying about Specter's "defection," while ignoring the fact that he's consistently remaining on the side of the GOP. Yet you still want him out. Because why? "He's not a REAL Republican."
Well, he doesn't look like he'll be a "REAL Democrat," either. So we'll see how things stack up in the election.
The Far Right, the rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth, Schiavo-watching, teabagging lunatics are running the asylum on your side of the fence, and you think that's a good thing?
Enjoy that ride into obscurity. Say hi to Josh Norton when you see him: maybe he'll be a "better Republican" than Specter.
Nice talking points in your second paragraph. Right from DailyKos? ThinkRegress? You're cat typed it up for you?
You intentionally miss the point on Lieberman being ousted because he's not "liberal" enough and agreed with W. Bush on the war. I'm not surprised, because to acknowledge that the LeftWingNuts are trying to hijack the Dem party means you lose the argument. I know, I know...you claim to be a tough Military person on your blog, but I never beleive Libs on-line when they claim to have Military service. Usually they're just rejected wannabees and I suspect you fall into this wannabee weekend warrior but wasn't syndrome.
The Left isn't any happier with Reid than they are Lieberman? Wow, that's a strong batch of Kool Aid you mixed up there, eh?
I'm not screaming or crying about Specter exiting the Repub party. I'm ecstatic he's gone. And I'm even more ecstatic if - as many Libs believe - he defected so he can be a "spy" for the Republicans and report back to them what the Libs are doing! How delicious. I love Liberal conspiracy theories, don't you?
You seem to have very little knowledge and information on Specter's "REAL Republican"voting record. Again, I understand, you've made up your mind what his voting record is without even looking at it, therefore you would never allow facts to impact what you believe.
For a Lib you seem to be awfully concerned about the demise of the Republican party. I understand, though, because Liberals are never happy, are they? They always find something to bitch about. Hell, you can't even keep your own party members like Lieberman or Zel Miller in the party, you're too Fringe Liberal for them.
Well, I guess it must be time for you to play Toy Soldiers. Bye!
The comment appears as was submitted, only I have redacted out the links to DailyKooks and other uber-Liberal sites.
Nameless Cynic said...
Yeah, sorry. That should have been "I don't feel shamed." But hey, I didn't make fun of you for your blatant typos ("Specter's switch is one only of self-sustaining...some would say selfish...because he knows"... (a noun in there might be good)- "BTW, did you notice your new Democrat Specter sided with Repiublicans today VOTED AGAINST your Dear Leader on the budget?" (go ahead, graph that sentence for me..) - "Oh yes, that give Cynic something else to think about too" - you know, little things like that...)
The LeftWingNuts have their own agenda - the difference is, they haven't taken over. Hate to break this too you, but there's still reason on one side of the Congress, and it ain't the right.
But yes, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but the fact that Harry Reid is a moderate really bothers some lefties. (That was a 3 minute blog search, for "Harry Reid fucking useless DINO" - you could probably have done it yourself, really.)
It breaks my heart that you don't think I spent half my life active duty in the military. Really. It does. Your opinion is very important to me.
Specter as "spy" - yeah, I'm deeply worried about that. You're aware that he isn't going to get a lot of invitations to parties from the cool kids, right? Especially since the deal Reid made with him is pissing a lot of them off.
And sorry, I know about Specter and his voting record. He made both sides angry at various times re: the Supreme Court, turning down Bork and harshly questioning Anita Hill. He opposed (as any reasonable American would) Bush's warrentless wiretapping (he said mean things about Bush getting impeached over it), he waffles on abortion (but only got a 20% from NARAL, so he doesn't waffle much), he's strongly opposed to any kind of gun control, he's in favor of amnesty for illegals, he's got a weak endorsement from the AFL-CIO, and he waffles on gay rights.
But you know something? I'm a remarkably happy person. But as for the demise of the Republican party, it isn't that I'm "concerned" about it. I just think it's inevitable if you keep letting the three-year-olds drive the car.

You're comment appears as submitted, I edited out your links to the Moonbats.
You have your talking points in order direct from Politburo Central. You must be proud.
I made a typo or other grammatical error? HOLY SHIT, that sure give complete and total validity to your argument then, doesn't it.
If you think I haven't held Republicans and Conservative to the same standards and have written about it, then you haven't spent much time reading other posts or any previous archives.
You seem to be more hyper and anxious over what you call the demise of Republicans than I am. Fuck, let the Moderate Republicans atrophy. I'm all for it. Although it seems to cause you distress. Can't figure that one out.
Obama is the one who told the Liberals "hands off" Lieberman. You must have intentionally forgotten that.
Lieberman:
# Rated 100% by NARAL, indicating a pro-choice voting record. (Dec 2003)
# Rated 0% by the NRLC, indicating a pro-choice stance. (Dec 2006)
# Rated 89% by the HRC, indicating a pro-gay-rights stance. (Dec 2006)
# Voted NO on Amendment to prohibit flag burning. (Dec 1995)
Reid:
# Rated 29% by NARAL, indicating a pro-life voting record. (Dec 2003)
# Rated 50% by the NRLC, indicating a mixed record on abortion. (Dec 2006)
# Rated 67% by the HRC, indicating a mixed record on gay rights. (Dec 2006)
# Voted YES on Amendment to prohibit flag burning. (Dec 1995)
The above from ontheissues.com
Lieberman is far more Liberal than Reid. Reid gets the Free Pass because he was against "Bush's War," and Lieberman supported it. That's the only reason Lieberman was booted out by the Liberal Nazis.
Well, now it's Obama's War. I notice little outcry from The Left, now that Obama is in charge of deaths.
Should I even be trading comments with you, considering you claims you're ex-military and the Obama DHS has defined you as a potential terrorist? I hope DHS is monitoring you and your activities in case you go "postal"! You're dangerous! At least that what your leader says about you.
WHATever. It's clear you're a Liberal Jackboot-licker. Your inane ramblings are good fodder for humor. Thanks for the laughs.
