Specter, Snow, Collins - Good Little RINOs

Lesson Number One: Always remember - always - The Chief Apologist for the Republican Party (meaning the Conservatives among them) is Utah's Senator Orrin Hatch.

Lesson Number Two: Always remember - always - The Second Chief Apologist for the Republican Party is Arlen Specter.

I have never seen two people so anxious to reach across the political aisle and befriend the enemy, the Liberals.Often, it is John McCain who crosses the finish line first, when it comes to poking his own party in the eye with a sharp stick. But it is Hatch and Specter who rush into apologizing for Conservatism and fiscal responsibility and who march to the beat of Compromise when the time comes to hash out legislation that has FAILURE written all over it because it is written by Liberals.

And along come RINO Senators from Maine, Susan Collins and Olympia Snow:

Sens. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and Susan Collins of Maine appeared to be the critical Republicans to sign onto the bill, giving Democrats the 60 votes needed to advance to a final vote. Democrats also voiced confidence that Republican Sen. Olympia Snow of Maine also would vote for the plan.

What's in Maine's drinking water? There has to be something.

The Democrats want to cover their collective asses with Republicans going along with the stimu-pork bill, with Specter and Collins and Snow - it has to be knowingly, they can't be that ignorant - providing the cover. This is Madness on the part of Republicans.

In related news, His Excellency Dear Leader Barack Hussein Pbama, Junior continues playing The Economic Fear Card along with the Gloom and Doom Cards:

Pbama has spent much of the past week by repeated attempts to scare us into thinking that rejecting his stimu-pork will result in a "catastrophe."

Run and hide people! His Excellency is predicting a catastrophe if his porkulus bill isn't passed! A catastrophe! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! Gloom and Doom and Doom and Gloom! And the Pillow-Biting Pbama Cultists suck this rhetoric in like the little Sponge Lap Dogs they are. Little Eichmanns...that's who they are...Little Eichmanns.

Pbama and The Liberals are ready to spend almost One Trillion dollars of Pork (money that WE DON'T HAVE) - betting it all on 20 Red.

Yep, sounds like good, solid fiscal policy to me.

Comments:
The people of Maine will probably protest their two Senator's votes by electing two Dems to replace them.

On a totally unrelated note: To answer you in the other thread, I will have to waffle and say I like both versions of Bladerunner. It's been a while since I've seen either version. Sorry to waffle.

I want "Memories of Green" played at my funeral, though.

Good call on how Maine will react.

Not a problem carrying over one comment from one post to the other RE: Blade Runner. No prob with you waffling either. I just like Ridley's director's cut better. I don't like voice-over narration in movies.

Oddly, I also don't like Harrison Ford as an actor. There's only a few movies where I believe he successfully becomes the character, and Blade Runner is one of them. Eyewitness is the other. I think he stinks as an actor in most roles. And I realize this is purely my subjective opinion.

"Memories of Green", man, I hadn't thought of that music for a long time. There's all sorts of clips with it on youtube!

I'd have to watch them one after the other to give you more of a definitive answer. It IS a movie that I can watch again, usually about once/year is good enough for me. I've got the director's cut on DVD but it's still in the wrapper because the flick is frequently on the tube.

Ford? eh.... I can take him or leave him, but I liked his performance in the couple of Jack Ryan roles he played, I guess that's because I'd like to have Jack Ryan as a president.

Especially now.

I have the soundtrack to Bladerunner; even have the font. Guess that makes me a fanboy, huh? -grin-

I fell in love with Sean Young from that movie, but she's looking a little rough now.

Come to think of it, so am I.

Don't forget Han Solo.

This stimulus is like playing Russian roulette with all the chambers loaded. We're screwed.

Two women and a cancer surivor vote to destroy the USA.
Thanks.

OK Scaramouch, I'll give him "Han Solo", even though (collective gasp ;-)) I am not a Star Wars fan. I know, I know, I'm a heretic.

Good take on the roulette table with all chambers loaded. We are so screwed. I agree.
