Blagojevich: I am not a crook-Defense

Basically, plagiarizing Richard Nixon, embattled Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich says, "I am not a crook."

Blagojevich is on tape saying...Washington Independent:

“Unless I get something real good [for Senate candidate], s***, I’ll just send myself, you know what I’m saying?” Blagojevich was taped saying on November 3, the day before Election Day.

Blagojevich added that the Senate seat “is a f***ing valuable thing, you just don’t give it away for nothing.”

    [...]

As if that weren’t incriminating enough, the complaint asserts that Blagojevich stated his goals even more bluntly in the wiretapped conversations with Tony Rezko, a convicted real estate developer and longtime Obama fund-raiser.

“I want to make money,” the affidavit quotes the governor as saying.

Has Pbama yet said, "that's not the Rod Blagojevich or Tony Rezko that I knew."

The Times Online asks, what did Rahm Emanuel know and when did he know it? To which I add, from which senate replacement (now Roland Burris) would Emanuel have profited, if any, with Blago selling the seat to the highest bidder.

Blago always took Rahm's phone calls. Always.

They were tight...see, Blago would always take Rahm's phone calls:

From a cached version of APee, via Newsmax:

...there was always one call Blagojevich regularly took, say his aides, and that was from Rahm Emanuel _ his congressman, his one-time campaign adviser and, more recently -- and troubling for Emanuel -- one of his contacts with President-elect Barack Obama's transition staff.

The friendly rapport Blagojevich and Emanuel shared over the years has suddenly become a troubling liability for Emanuel and the new president he will serve as chief of staff.

Emanuel and Obama have remained silent about what, if anything, Emanuel knew of the governor's alleged efforts to peddle Obama's vacant Senate seat to the highest bidder.

Emanuel did contact the governor's office about the appointment, and left Blagojevich with the impression that he was pushing Valerie Jarrett, a close Obama friend, so he wouldn't have to compete with her in the White House for Obama's attention, said a person close to Blagojevich.

Emanuel pushing Jarrett for the job so he wouldn't have to compete with her in the White House. Hmmmmmm.

Jarrett
has a lot of busy work listed as accomplishments on her profile, but she's just another cog - who yes, happens to be born in Iran (oh, there goes the xenophobia in me) - out of the Daley Chicago Political Machine. There's nothing impressive about her at all:

...the Obamas have regularly asked Jarrett for advice and she has been a part of almost all of their major decisions.

That didn’t change when Barack Obama decided to run for president. Obama sought Jarrett’s counsel throughout the campaign, describing her as the ultimate “utility player,” or someone who could step into any role. “I trust her completely,” Obama says. The two talked every day during the campaign, and she often urged him to follow his gut when pollsters and political strategists had other advice, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Out of the senate seat and into the adviser role. There's sure a lot of job opportunities surrounding the New Marxist Administration, isn't there? It appears to be the only sector with good, high-paying, great benefits jobs.

Illinois senate tells Rod Blagojevich to not let the door hit him in the butt on the way out

Personally, I am going to miss this guy. He epitomizes the worst of Democratic politics.

I too will miss Blago. He represents the norm in DemocRATic politics. The worst is represented by the DemocRAT controlled House and Senate and let's not forget the Highest Office. In Theft We Trust.

His name should always be preceded by the words, "the disgraced and impeached..." Rod Blagojevich. THAT's how the LEFT would refer to a Conservative for the rest of their lives.

Well, we can add his name to a long list of corrupt and guilty Democrats when the Libs start with their pissing contests, right Molson? And always remember to conclude this list of Dem felons and lawbreakers with the topper, that John Wayne Gacy was a Democrat.
