Downtown St. Paul Has A Problem?
Fifty civic boosters sounded off Thursday about downtown St. Paul.
Among the concerns mentioned: A lack of retail and nightlife, too many panhandlers loitering, some decrepit buildings, no "real" grocery store and not enough incentives for businesses to set up shop.
Nope - no one could have possibly guessed, in their worst case scenario, that higher property taxes, higher business taxes and onerous regulations would have a negative effect on attracting new businesses and help continue the operating of current businesses. No one could have seen this coming. No one.

Here's a fun fact. The tag for my vehicle in Jackson, MS would cost 497.50, eight miles away where I actually live, the very same tag costs 39.00. Hilarious.
Wow, that's quite a diff in the vehicle tabs. Who would voluntarily pay the higher price? Those that don't know or don;t care? Sheesh!
