Gore Whore

I told 'ya so back in June of 2005 that Al Gore is a whore.

Now comes news that the inventor of the internet, Albert Gore, Junior, the King of Calamity is raking in the cash while jet-setting around on his own private Gulfstream, is charging a fee of up to $25,000 to hear his tales of gloom and doom; From The Age:

AL GORE has a story he wants to tell the world. But it will cost you a thousand dollars to hear it.

In a passionate attack on the climate policies of Prime Minister John Howard and US President George Bush, the former US vice-president, addressing a very expensive lunch in Sydney yesterday, called Australia and the US "the Bonnie and Clyde" outlaws of the global environment for their failure to ratify the Kyoto Protocol.

    [...]

Mr Gore made his comments after reporters were asked to leave the lunch venue. Despite the cost, lunch in the 700-seat room at the Sydney Convention Centre was a sell-out, as is tomorrow's event in Melbourne. VIP packages, which included a spot close to Mr Gore and a meet-and-greet with him, cost $25,000.

The quote that is erroneously attributed to P.T. Barnum that was - as far as I can tell - actually said by Joseph Bessimer, is that "There's a sucker born every minute." Yeah - and they all are buying into Junior Gore's Global Panic.

The only "greening" going on here is in Junior Gore's wealth accumulation.

well we are, but that little twerp threw kyoto at the congresss and said nary a peep way back when he was vp.

i have long suspected the whole slideshow deal is guilt, but i could have sent him to confessional and the cause would have been much better served by anyone else.

think one single conservative would have ever listened to gore? i kmow quite a few liberals that didn't.

And Bubba didn't sign Kyoto either.

I think the Earth may be slightly warming. But - and I know you and I have disagreed on this in the past and I'm not trying to re-open yet another debate between us on this issue - I don't know that mankind is the culprit. I put more belief that we are emerging from a mini-ice age.

Minnesota is supposed to have another mild winter. I'm all for global warming.

So, do you approve, disapprove or "other" on "Junior" raking in cash like a man-whore on his Cash Cow Calamity?

pissed purplre. i know we got a major problem set coming and you know i don't give a damn about who to blame.

we cannot stop it now (getting screwed)anyway. but we needed to take a make concerned look at how we live we this planet. we needed to try and slow the influence we exert, and i will wait for someone to show me proof that what we ARE doing is a good thing for...get this one...human beings.

we also need to be preparing to deal with what we cannot stop pro actively in terms of moving people, resources, etc. to minimize damage and death. i think they call that being prepared. we ain't doing that shit. we ain't even talking about it.

gore was not anywhere near the man needed to deliver us that news.

I think being prepared is a good thing. It's the motto of the Boy Scouts and I was one of them.

I do believe that most people are responsible for themselves, recycling, being concious of the energy we consume, etc etc etc.

It's the preachy-ness of the Gore crowd that galls me to no end. "Give up your SUV but allow me to jet-set in a Gulfsteam." Fuck that, it's bullshit. It's nothing more than an attempt to further divide the U.S. and other prospering countries into more distinct groups of the wealthy elite and the poor.
