The Left Doesn't Have A
Monopoly On Congruous Absurdity
On the day of President Ronald Reagan's death, liberal sites like DemocratUnderground were filled with comments such as "he's burning in hell", and "he's Satan's bitch", among others that - believe it or not - were even more harsh and sordid. DU is just one example of this behavior from the Left. I did not read any comments chastising the ugly and distasteful commenters.
The Westboro Baptist Church (and I use the term "church" loosely), can hardly be labeled a Conservative mouthpiece. This is the group that celebrates the deaths of our Soldiers by gathering outside funerals with signs and protestations denigrating the lives of our most Brave, Heroic and Valiant Men and Women in the Military. Not once - not once - have I heard or read anyone from the Left condemn the actions of the WBC and believe me, I've searched to find it.
Last year we saw a fictional film about the assassination of a non-fictional President - George W. Bush - with "Death of A President". Once again I heard no outcry from anyone on the Left criticizing the subject matter of this film. For no matter how much one may disagree with any president, to suggest - even in a fictional film - that a non-fictional and sitting president be assassinated is not only in bad taste, but something that should force any of us to question the mental stability of the film's author(s).
While the Left failed to register even the slightest denunciation of "Death of A President", they did manage a unified voice in attacking and manifesting outrage at the ABC-TV movie "The Path To 9-11", for no other reason than its critical look at the myriad of failures of the Clinton Administration's lack in combating terrorism.
Death by Abortion is an Altar where all Liberals worship. Oh yes, there may be a few pro-life Democrats in that tent, but they are easily the minority within their party, one whose voice is quashed by
Nor can we forget about the Terri Schiavo case, where the Left mocked any sanctity and respect for life when they sided with her ex-husband to remove all means of life support. The Left mocked Republican Bill Frist and others, as well as the special session of Congress, that addressed the issues presented by the Schiavo situation.
The death of any Conservative, or any non-Liberal for that matter, receives no respite from those on Liberal Talk Radio:
Stephanie Miller: making fun of Casper Weinberger who died one day earlier, "He's in Purgatory now...[making fun of him is fair game] because tragedy plus time [equals comedy]." The Stephanie Miller Show - March 20, 2006
Stephanie Miller and Crew with "Weekend At Tammy's", a parody of "Weekend At Bernie's" that made 'fun' of deceased country singer Tammy Wynette, with her children digging her up out of her grave to perform at concerts. The Stephanie Miller Show - January 11, 2007
Mike Malloy: "It's fun to speak ill of the dead", speaking about Enron's Ken Lay.
The Mike Malloy Show - July 5, 2006
Janeane Garofalo: "[Republicans need to have inflicted upon them] some kind of suffering to remind them that they've done something to our consciousness." The Majority Report - May 19, 2006
Al Franken: "There [Strom Thurmond] goes, back to the grave."
The Al Franken Show - November 28, 2006, 40 minutes into the second hour of his program.
Al Franken: "Tom Cruise has been dumped by Paramount. Did Tom Cruise kill JonBenet Ramsey? Because tragedy plus time equals comedy." The Al Franken Show - August 23, 2006, Opening Monologue
So it comes as no surprise to me that when I occasionally publish a post of "Every Time A Liberal Dies An Angel Gets Its Wings", the Left misguidedly feels I am being insensitive or uncaring. Nothing could be further from the truth.
When I run a "Every Time A Liberal Dies An Angel Gets Its Wings" piece, I am illustrating by absurdity the contemptible behavior that the Left displays when anyone other than "their own" dies. The majority of readers and visitors to this blog know this. They understand and grasp the idea of a Congruous Absurdity.
Perhaps you Liberals should take the time to become familiar with this type of representational manner of expression, because it's all around you in everything your own titular heads - such as Franken, Malloy, Miller, the DU Crowd, the WBC and others - have to say.
Or do you prefer not to admit and recognize that your own crowd has indeed set the standard and disposition for what you may sometimes read here, that which you claim to find so offensive when the same standard your crowd uses is applied back to you? You mean you accept it in certain instances, meaning when it's applied to Conservatives, but not when it's applied to Liberals? When you Liberals don't condemn this type of behavior when its voiced by your own members, you have no right to condemn it when it's employed by others and directed at you and your own.
Simply put, no one and no group has devalued life and made death the object of outright mockery more than has The Left. Don't pretend otherwise, for your faux-posturing will hold no weight with me and has no voice here.

Labels: Dems Are Haters, Westboro Cult
The fictional movie about George Bush's assassination was not wide spread. "Path to 9-11" however, both labeled itself as true, which it wasn't, and was on national television, which means a heck of a lot more people knew about it.
I don't agree with any liberals speaking ill of the dead, but conservatives do do the same thing. Heck, Pat Roberston even prayed for the death of more Supreme Court Judges so conservatives could step in.
"Path to 9-11" was not labeled as true. Look it up. ABC promo'ed it as a Docu-Drama based on the findings of the 9-11 Commission.
"Death of a President" was indeed fictional as you say, but it was about a non-fictional, sitting president. Please tell me you see the difference, you seem like a smart person.
Which Supreme Court Judge did Robertson pray to die? I am not familiar with this.
I'm glad you disagree with Libs speaking ill of the dead. So do I. I'm just giving them a taste of their own medicine - which, amazingly - they don't seem to like. Go figure, huh?
Thanks for visiting and commeting. It is appreciated.
I can't find the part where he prayed for the justices to be "removed" but I was able to find this quote
"One justice is 83-years-old, another has cancer and another has a heart condition. Would it not be possible for God to put it in the minds of these three judges that the time has come to retire?"
Also, if you remember, him saying that
Prime Minister Ariel Sharone's stroke was a sign from God that he disaproved of the giving land to te Palestinians.
Many of the facts in the docu-drama were made with very great liberties on what the commission said. As in, they made a scene, where bill clinton's advisors pretty much let osama bin laden get away when he was like 20 feet from some soldiers.
I do think the mockumentary on the president's death is in bad taste, but from what i've heard, it doesn't glorify the event at all. Instead, it shows people's reactions, which are strongly mixed. In mind, I recall that mockumentary on a new smallpox outbreak 2 years ago. Also realize that not nearly as many people heard about the "death of a President" video as those have heard about the "path to 9-11" docudrama.
I realize you don't like the ruder posters speaking ill of the dead, but, if you pardon the cliche, two wrongs do not make a right.
While Robertson's remarks aren't...for lack of a better word...much better than what Franken, Malloy (especially those two), Miller and others have said, at least he refrained from speaking ill of the dead. His remarks on Ariel Sharon are...not good. Hey - I'm not saying that the Right doesn't sometimes talk out of their butt, but the Lefties I refer to in the post have more than frequently made the death of non-liberals over and over again.
You are right, two wrongs don't make a right. All I am doing on this blog is giving the Libs a TINY dose of what they vomit out on a far more frequent basis. I appreciate you input.
"Showtime's drama series about lesbians in Los Angeles, would feature the “Unauthorized Abortion of W,” a sculpture of a woman's body with an exposed womb displaying George W. Bush's adult face with each of his hands holding onto a rocket labeled “U.S. Air Force.” The rockets were angled to suggest they represent forceps."
Now, I know you said you do not approve of speaking ill of the dead, and that is to be commended. But the above "Unauthorized Abortion of W" is exactly what a large portion of the Left's rhetoric is all about for the past six years.
Some may not like my "illustrating absurdity by being absurd", some may not like when I take a jab at Hillary's "fat ass" - but nothing, nothing compares to the vile and hatred of Bush, Republicans, Conservatives and Conservative "small L" libertarians like myself. And considering the above is part of a Showtime program...well...I have nothing to apologize for on anything I've written on this blog in its almost 2 years. (not saying you called for me to apologize) - I'm just sayin'.
I'm not calling for you to apologize. I just feel that jokes about Hillary Clinton's weight and barack obama's ears (which really aren't that big) seem a little childish.
I find numerous jokes about people's bodies is childish. Is that a problem? Did I ever say the left should be able to do so?
I never said my blog wasn't childish; it is...in All It's Glory!
You didn't think "The L Word" would be partisan? Do you know a lot of lesbians that quite like republicans (aside from a handful of Log Cabins)? It's a liberal show, with liberal characters, for a largely liberal audience. How many conservatives do you truthfully think would b interested in watching The L Word in the first place?
I never said a word on the political bent of "The L Word" - you did. My comments on the sculpture were related to itself only, not on its context or content. It doesn't matter what environment "surrounds" the sculpture.
I reay don't go looking for those sorts of blogs, really. I find blogs linked to the more liberal ones I like, often a conservative I disagree with, and deal with them there. I don't exactly go out of the way to criticize other liberals, but I don't try to associate myself with them either. If i see soemthing on the path I disagree with, I'll mention it. i just don't go out of the way to look for them. If you'd like to know, I found you through Chesterstreet, a political blog run by Mark, that I found particularly distasteful for hurling hellfire and brimstone whenever I so much as sa I disagree with them. The one thing I prefer about you over him is that you acknowledge my argument instead of turning to some radical fringe religious rant that has nothing to do with the issue at hand.
"I don't exactly go out of the way to criticize other liberals,"... well perhaps you should because there is plenty to criticize.
I just found Chester Street myself after having found that he linked to me, so I reciprocated linking to him. Maybe the reason for you receiving rebuttals of fire and brimstone from his blog is at least partially due to the nature of your comments there? I haven't gone through the comments there looking to find your comments and his. But as often is the case, and I'm not saying it's applicable to you, rebuttal comments from a blogger just don't get "fire and brimstone" without having somehow been provoked or tweaked. Just an option for you to consider.
Ah, there are many liberal "trolls," but realize, and this shouldn't surprise you, that I myself am a liberal. in other words, though I may disagree with their tactics, I agree with, on a wider scale at least, their views. I find it counterproductive to bicker about who's on my team. conservatives can point out all the flaws they want too. The problem with conservatives rarely do notie the real flaws, so they have a tendenc to just make up little stories about us to complain about instead.
You're "take" that conservatives make up little stories is absurd. I'm tiring of your childish antics.
You should examine and think about what you want to say before typing it and hitting the submit button. Your youthful ignorance is abundantly apparent.
