John Kerry: A Study In Elitism

"Atrocities occur every day in Vietnam."

"I committed the same kind of atrocities as thousands of other soldiers."

"I personally witnessed instances of electronic torture."

THE BOTCHED JOKE

If Kerry apologizes for his "botched joke", then does that mean he was for it before he was against it?

Kerry canceled all personal appearances and flew back to Washington. His plans called for a stop in Mankato, Minnesota to stump for Democrat Tim Walz. I'm guessing he'll hole up in a room at the Hideaway Hotel on the same floor where Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are taking sanctuary from the media until after the election.

The lead story on last night's BBC televised headline news was John Kerry insulting the military. Their Washington Correspondent, James Westhead, called Kerry's words a "damaging gaffe". A "damaging gaffe"? It was an outright insult.

Let's look at his exact quote:

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

He was speaking before a student audience at Pasadena City College in California. It's not uncommon for that audience to lean politically leftward. But every one of the students listening to him should also feel insulted. How many of them have a parent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, nephew, niece or friend currently serving in the military?

SHE LOOKS EMBARRASSED, DOESN'T SHE?

So it's a "botched joke"? Watch the video again and keep your eyes on the three students behind Kerry, especially the girl on the right side of the screen, the girl to Kerry's left. She knows it's not joke! She's caught off guard by his remark. Her reaction and expression is one of uncomfortableness and uncertainty upon hearing Kerry's "botched joke". She's a smart person too, because she knew exactly the content, context and meaning of his words and she was embarrassed by them.

Watch the expression on the young man and woman on the left side of the screen, the two behind Kerry's right side. They don't appear to be laughing too hard, do they? Do they look like they think it's Joke-A-Rama?

If he was joking, then why the rush to excuse his words by his defenders saying he looked tired, he misspoke, he looked haggard, it was a "botched joke"? The Main Stream Media yesterday and today is going out of their way in desperately defending and attempting to put a favorable spin on his "botched joke".

In his political statements critical of President Bush and VP Cheney, Kerry never fails to specifically include their names in his attacks. He always - ALWAYS - links the name of Bush to whatever subject he is protesting about. And somehow, in this one instance of his "botched joke", Kerry forgot to include the name of the president? How can anyone as intelligent (as he thinks he is) as John Kerry "forget" anything?

I wonder, had Casey Sheehan still been bravely serving in Iraq, how his Mom Cindy would react to Kerry's disparaging insult of the Military. I wonder how Casey would feel?

THE UNAPOLOGETIC APOLOGY

Kerry said the White House is attempting to distort his statement. He said it's classic republican textbook tactics. There's no attempt to distort Kerry's "botched joke". It speaks for itself. He insulted the Military and he's too much of an elitist and too much of an "intellectual" to apologize and admit his error. He's being called on the carpet for his own words and he acts like he's the one who's been offended!

Kerry says the criticism he's receiving is an attempt by the White House to distort his statement and is a textbook republican campaign tactic. Wow - Kerry must be some kind of "Manchurian Candidate" to self-implode his very own Democratic party. I tell 'ya, I have to hand it to Karl Rove. How did he manage to make Kerry say what he said? That Rove guy is a genius, isn't he?

"If anyone thinks a veteran could somehow criticize 140 thousand troops and not the president, they're crazy."

Interesting words coming from the man who said the following to host Bob Schieffer on CBS's "Face The Nation" in December, 2005:

"And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs."

Interesting words coming from a man who claims he threw his Military Medals and Ribbons over the White House fence. Well, Kerry still has his Medals and Ribbons so all we know for sure is that he threw someone's Medals and Ribbons over that fence for nothing more than a political moment.

The only distortion made about Kerry's "botched joke" come from Kerry himself. Good Lordy, even MrsSatan Hillary Clinton called his "botched joke" inappropriate. Democratic candidate Harold Ford has called for Kerry to apologize.

How on earth could Kerry possibly think that the public will buy his excuse that his comments were directed at the intelligence of Bush? Bush had both better grades and a higher GPA than Kerry. Kerry's outrageous backpedaling is so obvious only a Full Fledged Truth Denier would say it isn't so.

John Kerry can't bring himself to say, "I'm sorry."
Does it get more supercilious and sanctimonious than that?

It's Crystal Clear: The Liberal Plays The Victim Once Again!

"Is this where I 'git me a huntin' license?"

..."crystal clear, as crystal clear as I know, I apologize to no one for my criticism of the President."

Not even an "I'm sorry if anyone was insulted, that was not my intention" - type statement. He refuses to acknowledge that he could possibly have insulted anyone. The unabashed condescension and arrogance displayed by Kerry is Crystal Clear. He can't even bring himself to say he's sorry if he unintentionally offended someone. In his mind he didn't offend anyone other than his intended afterthought and retro-spinned target of George W. Bush.

Instead of offering an apology or even faking one, Kerry chooses to play the role of the Victim just like all good Socialists do. Not only is he currently defending himself and what he said, he maintains the he said nothing wrong, nothing offensive, nothing politically incorrect, nothing impolite, nothing inflammatory. His obnoxious "botched joke" becomes for him, in his own mind, a matter of fact not open for debate or reprimand. I've said it before and I'll say it again...facts have no bearing on what a Liberal "believes".

Kerry's elitist attitude of Liberalism and anti-Militarism revealed itself loud and clear. He voiced the dirty little secret that all Liberals adhere to, that of unmitigated hatred toward the Military.

Recall the Clinton Administration using The Military as tea and biscuit servants in the White House. Recall John Murtha's condemnation of the Marines in Haditha well before any facts were known or an investigation begun. Recall John Kerry calling American Men and Women in Iraq as "murderers and terrorizers".

As humans, our first reaction to something is usually the right one. The public knows precisely what Kerry meant when he said, "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't , you get stuck in Iraq."

Instead of apologizing for his remark - which would have ended all the controversy thereby allowing democrats to get back on offense - Kerry tried to camouflage his degradation of the Military with more lies...being tired, haggard, misspeaking. Is anybody other than the Insane Liberal Clown Posse buying this Bill of Goods?

"It Was A Botched Joke," starring John Kerry as The Victim, coming soon to a theater near you.

THE CONTEMPTIBLE JOHN KERRY

Look at how Kerry so derisively responded to the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth. A true statesman (which Kerry is as far away from as one can be) would have allowed the Swift Boat Veterans their say without responding, you know, taking the high road. But no, Kerry viciously attacked them to his own disadvantage.

When you Liberals out there attend an elementary, grade or high school sporting event that your children participate in, do you tell your children that while you support them, you're going to cheer for the opposing team? Because this is clearly the message that the Left consistently sends when they say they support our troops but don't support the war.

Their behavior is nothing short of treasonous and should be treated as such. It's not the Conservative Movement nor the Republicans that try to divide America as the Left is so fond of accusing. The only political party that is so desperately clinging to what little power and influence they have left is the Democrats.

Politics is indeed a blood-sport. Do you know who also believe that? Bill Clinton. But it is the Liberals who want to reserve the privilege of shedding their political opponent's blood for only themselves. Well, Liberals don't own or have a monopoly on political warfare. Get used to it.

John Kerry still hasn't allowed full disclosure of his military record. The unabridged version for public consumption from his claim that he'd sign Form 180 hasn't materialized. Kerry, in full Military Uniform, met with the Viet Cong in France attempting to negotiate with them when his sworn duty as a member of the Military was to defend the Constitution of The United States and protect it. His anti-Military remarks are documented. There's no question that his "botched joke" was meant to impugn our Troops and our Military, both the proud Men and Women who currently serve and those who are well-deservedly retired.

Make no mistake about it, what Kerry said is no joke and it never was intended to be one. Liberals are incapable, bereft and void of having anything remotely resembling a sense of humor. What we heard from John Kerry is the true sentiments of what the Left thinks of the military, loud and Crystal Clear.

"John Kerry, reporting for duty!" Uh-huh, duty being defined as smearing every single individual who currently serves, or has served, in the Military.

Well how could he have been talking about Bush, because when they released his academic transcripts Kerry actually did worse at Yale than Bush did! Wouldn't make much sense to insult somebody for being stupid or uneducated when they did better than you at the same school, right?

One needs to look no further than Kerry's own Boston Globe:

"Yale Grades Portray Kerry as Lackluster Student"
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2005/06/07/yale_grades_portray_kerry_as_a_lackluster_student/

"I always told my Dad that D stood for distinction," Kerry said.

Besides, in the past Kerry has never forgotten to mention Bush when linking him to any negativity. Why'd he forget this time? Because he wasn't speaking about Bush, he was insulting the military.

Thanks for visiting and commenting.

I watched the video. As one who performs on stage occasionally and, therefore, some experience with sound, I'm not certain those three students heard what John Kerry said. Unless there was a monitor on stage, they didn't hear a thing. The look on the girls face was, to me, "What did he say to make them laugh? I can't hear up here." BTW, I deplore Kerry and am convinced that he said exactly what he wanted to say.

Hi Dan, I appreciate you commenting.

You bring up a good point, that they maybe didn't hear Kerry. I tend to think they did. I've occasionally some video and film work, and usually the "playback" is loud enough for those on stage or on camera to hear it.

The best video footage that I've seen on the Kerry "botched joke" has been running on television and the look on the face of the girl on the right side of the screen looks - to me (and yes, its a subjective call, no doubt about it) - like she's embarrassed. The two on the left sure aren't laughing much, or if at all. This doesn't come through as clearly as it does on the video clips on television, but the one I chose is the best I could find to represent the students in the background.

Hey - you could be a huge supporter of Kerry and as long as you present a civil comment I publish them and respond to them. The rejected comments are almost always from "anonymous" and consist of hate and rage filled words. THOSE are the ones that never see the light of day.

I'm a true Independent politically, and that in no way means the official Independent party. But I made no secret and fully admit to leaning Right of Center on many issues. If John McCain has said what Kerry said, rest assured I'd have skewered him in the same manner.

I really like your Photography blogs. You have some very nice B&W images there. Also like what I read on your political blog. Good stuff.

Thanks for visiting.
