Sotomayor, The Affirmative Action Justice

Sonia Sotomayor was confirmed Thursday as THE FIRST AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SUPREME COURT JUSTICE. WSJ:

The Senate confirmed Sonia Sotomayor as the first Hispanic justice on the Supreme Court by a 68-31 vote, handing President Barack Obama a victory right before lawmakers leave town for their August recess.

All of the chamber's Democrats and independents voted in Judge Sotomayor's favor except for ailing Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, who was absent. Among Republicans, the vote was nine in favor and 31 against.

Awwww...Fat Ted Tumor Head Kennedy was absent. So sad. He must be one step closer to Hell.

The spineless Moderate Repubs who voted for Sotodouche are...SeeBS News:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Sen. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Sen. Christopher Bond (Mo.), Sen. Susan Collins (Maine), Sen. Olympia Snowe (Maine), Sen. Richard Lugar (Ind.), Sen. Mel Martinez (Fla.), Sen. Judd Gregg (N.H.) and Sen. George Voinovich (Ohio).

WTF is wrong with the above Republicans? What were they thinking? Why are they helping the Liberals? They should just change party affiliation and stick a "D" after their name.

Sotomayor is not wise, her past bench experience is unimpressive, the real SCOTUS overturned her Ricci/Firefighter decision and her manner of talking and speaking would have made her a wonderful backwoods character in the film
"Deliverance."

Note to Sonia: Perry Mason was not a real attorney.

Liberalism means striving for mediocrity and almost achieving it.

Drake Mel fucking RINO Martinez doesn’t care he’s not running again but Charlie tanning bed Christ is going to run for his spot. Christ is another RINO and he won’t get to the senate. I helped put him the governors mansion because he use to be conservative but not anymore he’s gone slap ass crazy now. It’s Rubio all the way for me. As for Lindsey Graham he really needs to take a page from Jim DeMint, I loved his healthcare reform proposal I do however disagree with stance on abortion but besides that seems like maybe a raising star in the GOP.

BTfull1,

What motivated Christ to move towards the Moderate wing? Why did he do it, do you think?

I've been as tough on Repubs as I have on Dems. Perhaps moreso on Repubs who morph into RINOs and Moderates. That's why I consider myself an Indie-small "L" Libertarian. I've NEVER said or written the Republican party doesn't have their faults and share of problems. But the Libs? Shit, they are Marxists, pure and fully.

Lindsey Graham is, pardon me, a ball lapper. He's gone from McCain's balls to Sotomayor's.

Those so-called Republicans voted the way they did because they don't want to lose the Latino vote in the next election.

Well, well, well guess who’s resigning early? Mel Martinez! He voted for a racist feminazi one day and resigns early the next! Here’s the ironic twist Charlie Christ aka chuckles crisp gets to appoint Martinez’s replacement, I wonder if he’s going to try to appoint himself lmao….well keep you updated as this unfolds.

Martinez did indeed resign today meek (who is the front runner in democratic race for senator said) "Sen. Mel Martinez made history when he was elected to the U.S. Senate and I wish him only the best in his future endeavors," Meek said in a news release. "It is fitting that one of Senator Martinez's final votes was to confirm a history-making Supreme Court nominee, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, and I am so pleased that he cast this vote one that I wholeheartedly support…..Rubio who is challenging Christ chimes in with words of wisdom said via e-mail that the interim replacement for Martinez should be someone "who will go to Washington and serve as a true check on President Obama's push for more wasteful government spending, government-run health care and cap-and-trade.
"The last thing Florida needs is a U.S. senator that will stand with President Obama instead of challenging the wrong direction he is leading our country and offering constructive conservative solutions moving forward," he wrote.
……..let the games begin!!!

Groovy,

You are SPOT ON! "Ball lapper" indeed! I don't know what Graham is trying to prove, other than he's just another frequent Moderate who wants to be re-elected and re-elected and re-elected. I don't know why his constituents keep putting him in office. His Demo opponent must be really hellacious.

BTfull1,

Is that not just WILD? Mel votes for the unwise Latina woman and then resigns. There's gotta be something lurking under it all that is more substantial; meaning he must have something to hide or he was "told" to vote to Soto and then resign.
