Obama Is Spying On Us

Where are all the Civil Liberty Lovin' Pbama Cultists on this issue?

Dear Leader Barack Hussein Pbama, Junior is putting tracking cookies into your PC. CNN:

More than half of the Internet's top websites use a little known capability of Adobe's Flash plugin to track users and store information about them, but only four of them mention the so-called Flash Cookies in their privacy policies, UC Berkeley researchers found.

Unlike traditional browser cookies, Flash cookies are relatively unknown to web users, and they are not controlled through the cookie privacy controls in a browser. That means even if a user thinks they have cleared their computer of tracking objects, they most likely have not.

    What's even sneakier?

Several services even use the surreptitious data storage to reinstate traditional cookies that a user deleted, which is called 're-spawning' in homage to video games where zombies come back to life even after being "killed," the report found. So even if a user gets rid of a website's tracking cookie, that cookie's unique ID will be assigned back to a new cookie again using the Flash data as the "backup."

Even the Whitehouse.gov showed up in the report, with researchers reporting they found a Flash cookie with the name "userId." The site does say in its privacy policy that it uses tracking technology but it does not mention Flash or tell users how to get rid of the Flash cookie.

The report was submitted Monday as a comment in the government's proceeding about the use of cookies on federal websites. Federal websites have traditionally been banned from using tracking cookies, despite being common around the web -- a situation the Obama administration is proposing to change as part of an attempt to modernize government websites.

Oh...the Kenyan and his Whitehouse claim they disbanded the idea of tracking us. But if there's one thing we learned from The Left during the Bush Admin it is to never trust or believe what the government tells us. Never.

The Pbama Admin is tracking you, there's no doubt about it. CIO:

It's not some , but the Obama Administration is planning changes that could impact the privacy of everyone who visits US Government Web sites.

The White House Office of Management and Budget has proposed major changes on how Federal sites use cookies. Depending on your point of view, it's either a troubling reversal of policies protecting consumer privacy or a welcome step into modern Web technology.

[ Also on InfoWorld: "Does Obama want to tap your computer"]

    [...]

The OMB wants to use three kinds of cookies: single-session cookies that don't maintain tracking data; multisession cookies that gather anonymous data for use in Web analytics; and multisession cookies "for use as persistent identifiers, which track users over multiple visits with the intent of remembering data, settings, or preferences unique to that visitor for purposes beyond what is needed for web analytics."

It's that last category of cookie that isn't going down so well with folks at the ACLU, which released a blistering attack on the proposed changes. Per Michael Macleod-Ball, Acting Director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office:

Without explaining this reversal of policy, the OMB is seeking to allow the mass collection of personal information of every user of a federal government web site. Until the OMB answers the multitude of questions surrounding this policy shift, we will continue to raise our strenuous objections.

"You VILL DO AS I SAY UND YOU VILL LIKE IT! YOU VILL OBEY ME!"

Where are all the Civil Liberty Lovin' Pbama Cultists on this issue? From Prison Planet:

Civil liberties groups like the ACLU and the Electronic Privacy Information Center are lining up against a plan, proposed by the Obama administration, to end a policy that has been in place since 2000 preventing government websites from installing tracking cookies on users’ computers.

“This is a sea change in government privacy policy,” said Michael Macleod-Ball, Acting Director of the ACLU Washington Legislative Office, in a statement. “Without explaining this reversal of policy, the [White House Office of Management and Budget] is seeking to allow the mass collection of personal information of every user of a federal government website. Until the OMB answers the multitude of questions surrounding this policy shift, we will continue to raise our strenuous objections.”

    [...]

According to the [Washington] Post, the EFF and EPIC are pointing to “an unnamed federal government agency” that signed a contract with Google earlier this year that “carved out an exemption from the ban so that the agency could use Google’s YouTube video player.”

To many privacy watchdogs, that agreement is the thin end of the wedge that will allow the government to monitor ever more closely people’s activities on government websites.

Where are the Civil Liberty-Hitler-Lovin' Pbama Cultists? Dutifully silent.

If Hitler had had computer cookies, we'd all be speaking Deutschland.

The problem is that they are NOT freedom lovers and they don't even have a CLUE what civil liberties mean.

«Where are all the Civil Liberty Lovin' Pbama Cultists on this issue?»

A suggestion for you, David:

Instead of saying «Pbama Cultists», I would say: «Pbama Multi-Cultists».
I don’t know if you see the connection with the 2008 Presidential Elections?

Duncan

Looks like I might have to load my puter up with photos of my stink nugget with captions like "secret militia base". Might as well let em steal something good since Pbama likes that kind of stuff anyway. Ask Larry. He'll tell you.

Leaders who spy on their people in time of peace have something to hide.
Not only he hides his academic records, but noe he wants to spy ebveryone else.
Nice going, President Hussein Junior.

Yeah Tym, they only care about Civil Liberties when they thought W. and Cheney were "spying" on them and listneing to their phone calls with grandma. The Civil Liberties are important.

We know the Cultists cry "wolf" only when it benefits them. This mentality is ingrained in them. It's all they know how.

Help me out Duncan:

I don’t know if you see the connection with the 2008 Presidential Elections?

What am I missing out here? Not sure of what connection you refer to.

I *** DO *** like your phrase "Pbama Multi-Cultist." Nice tweaking of the term.

Molson,

Can't discuss now.

Black Helicopter flying overhead. Too nearby to discuss such matters.

The Blue Dog flies at midnight.

The red cap is in the basement.

Extra coffee in the thermos.

The beer is in the cooler.

Will resume picnic plans on future date.

Mats,

And how The Left went batcrap crazy over Bush and the possible surveillance of phone calls taking place from the US to known and identified areas in foreign countries where our intel suspected terrorists might be.

Now we all have [dot] gov cookies in our PCs and the PbamaBots say nothing.

There's no diff between the P-Bots and the Cultists who drank the Jim Jones Kool Aid.

No problem, sir.

Pbama’s electoral basis was, okay, a lot of White socialists, and a strong part of minorities. Don’t think I am complaining, but the whole world told us to do not vote according to the candidate’s race, but minorities’ choice was basically because-Pbama-is-a-mulatto.

Why «Multi-Cultists»? Because in the South, we call the new Americans «multicults». I found the analogy was good comparing with your original lexicon.

Duncan

Gotcha, R. Duncan.

Another reason, one of a handful, why the election turned out the way it did is because of the Repub Candidate John McCain and his awful campaign. I respect him a lot, but disagree with much of his actual policies and politics. I think he was a poor choice.

Thanks for replying and clarifying my confusion on your original comment.
