Obama Plays Basketball Sans USMC T-Shirt

Unlike his basketball game in Indiana (where he made sure to be photographed wearing a USMC T-shirt), Osama Hussein Obama The Obamalith played some hoops with the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Only this time The Obamalith WAS NOT WEARING a USMC T-Shirt.

And he wasn't even wearing a U.S. Flag lapel pin.

He did, however wear the usual turban and Muslim garb permitted under Islamic law.

Norman Goldman Says No Voter Fraud

The Left is apoplectic over the Supreme Court ruling that upheld an Indiana state law requiring people to show photo identification before voting, to guard against fraud. The Court made the right decision of course.

What is interesting is that the Left - once again wanting to have their cake and eat it - now claims that voter fraud should be proven before requiring voters to produce identification. This mindset was amplified by Moon Pie Faced Norman Goldslob... Goldstein... Goldfarb...Goldfinger...Goldman at approximately 39 minutes into the second hour of Liberal Radio Talker Big Fat Dumb Ed Schultz's program on Tuesday.

This is solid, unadulterated hilarity! The Left has cried voter fraud for at least the past seven-plus years. So the Supreme Court takes a valid step deciding that voters need to produce an ID. How does the Left respond to this? By saying that voter fraud needs to be proven before instituting such a disenfranchising ruling!

Norman Goldslob...a man with a law degree from a box of Cracker Jack?

Well, everyone is still waiting for the Left to actually prove any type of voter fraud. And...we still wait.

Oh, this one is rich! Sweet, deliciously chocolaty, nougaty, creamy, caramel rich!

Global Warming Caused Virginia Tornadoes?

The Lefty side of the blogosphere is full of "evidence" that the tornadoes in Virginia were caused by global warming.

The appropriately titled The Daily Green (isn't that an off-colored bowel movement?) says, "Some scientists have warned that global warming will create conditions that will make tornado outbreaks more frequent and violent."

So, as is my job to debunk what Lefty sites and blogs "feel" rather than siding with facts, I spent a few minutes researching the worst tornadoes experienced in the United States.

The following information on the five worst tornadoes in the U.S. is from Suite 101 and they list their references and sources for what they published from data obtained by the National Weather Service, Live Science, Epic Disasters, Wikipedia and the Tornado Project:

Number One: The Tri-State Tornado on March 18, 1925:
Missouri, Illinois and Indiana were all affected by the Tri-State tornado.
    Death toll: 695
    Injuries: 2027

Number Two: The Natchez Tornado on May 7, 1840:
The Natchez Tornado first touched down in Concordia Parish, Louisiana then followed the Mississippi River for 7 miles before hitting Natchez Mississippi.
    Death toll: 317
    Injuries: 109

Number Three: The St. Louis/East St. Louis Tornado on May 27, 1896:
The St Louis tornado struck the southwest end of the city of St Louis Missouri creating a path of destruction through the urban area.
    Death Toll: 255
    Injuries: 1000

Number Four: The Tupelo Tornado on April 5, 1936:
The Tupelo tornado first touched down near Coffeeville and skirted the center of Tupelo but destroyed residential sections of the city.
    Death Toll: 233
    Injuries: 700

Number Five: The Gainesville Tornado on April 6, 1936:
The Gainesville tornado was actually a pair of funnels with the smaller one hitting north of the city and the larger one heading for downtown
    Death Toll: 203
    Injuries: 1600

Gee, it sure is funny that all the above tornadoes pre-date Albert Gore, Junior's faux crisis of global warming. But hey... Liberals and Eco-Tards never allow facts to get in the way of what they believe.

DNC Will Air False McCain Campaign Ad

Here we go...this is what you get, Senator McCain, when you pander to the Left thinking they are your friends or that they will play fair.

The Republican National Committee said Monday it is asking cable networks not to air what they described as a “maliciously false” ad about John McCain from the Democratic National Committee. CNN:

The RNC said the ad was in legal violation because its content was misleading. Asked about the prospect of legal action from Republicans in a conference call late Monday afternoon, DNC Chairman Howard Dean responded: “Let them do it.”

The 30-second spot, slated to run on CNN and on MSNBC, highlights McCain’s comment that it would be acceptable if U.S. troops remained in Iraq for 100 years. McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, was talking about a peace-keeping mission, not active conflict.

Playing nice with your political enemies isn't going to get you anywhere, Senator McCain. But pay no attention to talk like that. Keep alienating your base and reaching out to those who have opposing political ideology than you.

Don't expect Hillary or Barry to come to your defense or that they will "disavow" the ad, Senator McCain. Unlike you, Hillary and Barry actually treat their base with a degree of respect because they realize that they NEED THEIR BASE TO WIN, which is something that you just don't "get".

Hillary is already saying that McCain hasn't done enough to stop the Obama/Wright ads.

I can't wait to see how McCain urinates all over his base on this one.

Howard Dean Wants A Candidate

"Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee! My meds just kicked in!"

DNC Chairman Mao Howard Dean wants a
solid Democrat candidate by June. Most of us already know that Mao Dean is out of his mind, but he's really stretching the limits thinking Hillary Clinton is going to cede the candidacy to The Obamalith or that Ted Kennedy's Poodle is going to cede to Hillary.

AP (from the above hypertext):

Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean said Monday that either Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barack Obama will know when it's time to drop out of the nomination race after the end of the primaries in early June.

"We want the voters to have their say. That's over on June 3," he said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Dean, saying he was speaking from experience as a candidate for president in 2004, said he won't have to force anyone from the race.

"Either of these candidates, if it's time for them to go, they'll know it and they will go," he said. "They don't need any pushing from me. You know when to get in and you know when to get out. That's just part of the deal."

Yeah, as if Dean has any say in the matter. Howard, are you smokin' The Chronic or are you hallucinating from the Tom Cruise Purple?

You just keep on thinking that Hillary will bow out gracefully Howard, you just keep right on thinking that as you mix yourself up a brand new strong batch of Kool Aid and repack the bowl on the hookah pipe.

Clinton - Obama: Indiana Dead Heat

Hillary Clinton MrsSatan and Barack Osama Hussein bin Laden al-Obama
The Obamalith are tied in Indiana. Forbes Trailwatch:

The most recent poll averages from Real Clear Politics show Indiana is a dead heat, with both candidates receiving support from 45.5% of likely voters.

    [...]

Manufacturing will be a key to a Clinton victory in the Indiana primary, as 20% of all those employed statewide work in manufacturing jobs. To win the state, Barack Obama needs to capture the student vote and urban voters, [He won't be able to do this. - Drake] specifically those in Indianapolis, where 25% of all votes statewide will be cast.

    [...]

Students and African American voters, however, can only take Obama so far in Indiana, a state where 86% of the electorate is white. He must also reach blue-collar workers, who account for 31% of the state’s 6.3 million residents and have recently supported Clinton.

Why...what's happening to the campaign of Ted Kennedy's Poodle?

Bele Obama: He's Black and White - or is that White and Black - just like Michael Jackson.

Is this the beginning of the end of The Obamalith's campaign? You bet it is and The Magic Bele is bitter about it. Very, very bitter.

Obama resorts to aggressive campaign tactics. The Telegraph:

Barack Obama has taken off the gloves in his battle to win the American presidency - and in so doing has left critics wondering whether he is not just another conventional politician grubbing for votes. [Why, yes he is, thanks for noticing! - Drake]

    [...]

...it is Mr Obama who has not "got it done". He is convincingly, perhaps insurmountably, ahead in the number of states won, his share of the popular votes cast, and his tally of elected delegates. But he has yet to win over enough party grandees, the "super-delegates", to be sure of securing the nomination.

If he fails to wrest Indiana from Mrs Clinton, who is slightly ahead in the polls, his campaign fears that the remaining uncommitted super-delegates will lose faith in his ability to win and back his rival instead.

    [...]

Mr Obama now exhibits irritation at his need to keep explaining himself to those voters - including the white working class, older, women and Catholics - who remain stubbornly resistant to his charms. [It's not that they are stubborn, they just recognize a huckster when they see one. - Drake]

    [...]

The conservative columnist David Brooks, once an admirer, complained that he has morphed into "a more conventional politician", guilty of "the sorts of fibs, evasions and hypocrisies that are the stuff of conventional politics". The liberal commentator Paul Krugman condemned Mr Obama's reliance on the message that Mrs Clinton is unlikely to overcome his lead among pledged delegates.

Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! Is that SUPER DUPER UBER LIBERAL Paul Krugman dissin on Obama? Who knew Krugman contained a quark of objectivity. He must have put away his Brownshirt for the moment.

The popular vote - of which Hillary claims she is now ahead in - between MrsSatan and The Obamalith is so much closer than the popular vote difference between George W. Bush and Albert Gore, Junior in 2000 - yet the Obamaniacs still scream, yell, kick their feet and have hissy fits whining that Hillary should quit the race. If Obama was trailing by the few points and votes as is Hillary, would the Obamaniacs be thinking he should quit the race? Hardly. But never underestimate the ability of the Insane Liberal Clown Posse and Obama Cultists in their unified hatred of all things not Marxist.

Obama Wears USMC T-Shirt

Huh...Obama Hussein Bin Laden Obama The Obamalith...formerly known as Ted Kennedy's Poodle won't wear a U.S. Flag lapel pin, but he will wear a USMC T-shirt while playing basketball.

Wow, a what proud supporter he is of his country, huh? Why, he wrapped himself up in a USMC T-shirt faster than anyone in the
Insane Liberal Clown Posse could falsely accuse any Republican of wrapping themselves up in the American flag. Oh you Libs, you're so unprepared for events like when the USMC T-shirt issue comes right back slapping you like the bitches you is.

Obama managed a thoroughly staged photo-op in portraying the image that he is pro-America by playing basketball while wearing a USMC T-shirt. Yeah, the guy who won't wear a flag pin made sure he was photographed wearing a USMC shirt. See doubters, he's patriotic! He's wearing a USMC shirt! But for Obama those letters probably stand for United States of Muslim Communities.

The last time we saw a political event this staged and contrived unstaged and impromptu was when Bubba and Hillary were in their swimsuits dancing on some beach pretending to be unaware their photo was being taken.

The story mentions he played b-ball while "wearing a tucked in USMC jersey." Who plays any sport with their T-shirt tucked in? What kind of arugula and goat-cheese eating elitist freak is he?

Obama's faux patriotism in a USMC T-shirt, on full display for all photographers and reporters.
See, he's patriotic!
Nope, nothing staged about this...nothing at all.

Did you see The Poodle being interviewed by Chris Wallace on FOX News Sunday? Why, it looks like Obama got himself a case of Donald Rumsfelditis.

He's now asking himself questions aloud and then responds aloud with an answer. The Left had a field day making fun of Rumsfeld for doing this. Somehow, I don't think the Left will apply the same standard to Obama. The Left is really good at embracing their obvious double-standards.

Obamaniacs seem to like Ted Kennedy's Poodle or The Obamalith, as I like to call him. I suspect his cult followers adore and worship him for two primary reasons; he's not a Clinton and he's not a Republican.

If Obama were a Republican, I'd have the same opinion of his politics as I do now. There's nothing there. He doesn't stand for anything. Even his hardcore political supporters and cronies cannot articulate any of his accomplishments.

John McCain Won't Get My Vote

Perhaps someone needs to be preparing a comfy chair for Republican presidential candidate, Arizona's United States Senator John McCain, at the politician's retirement home of My Campaign Took The High Road. He can sit with both former Senator and 1996 Republican Presidential candidate Bob Dole and former Republican President George H.W. Bush. Both Dole and Bush took the high road in their campaigns against Democrat candidate Bill Clinton. Dole lost and Bush watched his re-election go down the drain.

If McCain thinks he can take the high road in campaigning against Osama Hussein Obama The Obamalith, and especially if he ends up running against Hillary Clinton MrsSatan...then he's out of his mind.

I have to hand it to McCain, though. He just keeps right on going, handing me reason after reason not to support or vote for him. I've been trying to work my brain into a mode where I would support and vote for him. Well, no more.

McCain proved twice again to be the Antagonist of his own party when he announced late last week that he condemned a political advertisement being run by the North Carolina Republican State Party.

The best PR response for McCain should have been, "while I may personally disagree with the ad and wouldn't use it in my campaign, it's an issue for the North Carolina state Republican party to deal with." But no...Mister Maverick eagerly took the bait from the MSM and displayed for his critics the disdain he has for his own party.

Then, speaking in New Orleans, McCain took the opportunity to slam the Bush Administration's response to hurricane Katrina. We can rehash Katrina until the day humans become extinct, but there are two important facts that are almost always - I believe intentionally - overlooked in discussing Katrina, and McCain failed to note them. One; no one accurately predicted the severity of the hurricane. Two; state and local officials - whose past Democrat-weighted governing of hurricane stricken areas - are equally responsible for sharing the blame of not acting soon enough before the hurricane hit and responding slowly in its aftermath.

Of course, in order to pander to the Independents and Centrist Democrats of whom McCain thinks will vote for him - they won't - he has to bash his own party.

Perhaps I am deluding myself in thinking that McCain will honor any tradition of Conservatism from which, for much of his political life, he's distanced himself. Perhaps those that think like I do, who lean right of center but with an ample degree of skepticism and objectivity which instills our libertarianism, are fooling ourselves into thinking that McCain will honor the ideology that is important for Conservatives and Conservatism.

If we end up with eight years of MrsSatan or four or eight years of The Obamalith, fine, I'll deal with, I know it will be painful. But at the end of that tenure maybe, just maybe, Conservatism will have rediscovered it roots - again - and bring forth a strong platform and a strong candidate that isn't so antagonistic to his own party.

And McCain...well, he can sit in his comfy chair and take his turn telling stories with Bob Dole and H.W. Bush about how he took the high road during his presidential campaign and...how he lost.

St. Paul Says No Drinking Outdoors!
Unless You Pay For It

Just yesterday I published this column about St. Paul city civic leaders seeking ways to attract new businesses into St. Tumbleweed. The civic leaders are very concerned with a "lack of retail and nightlife, too many panhandlers loitering, some decrepit buildings, no 'real grocery store and not enough incentives for businesses to set up shop."

Lo and behold one day later, the Sunday Minneapolis Red Star North Korean Tribune (MRSNKT) runs a story on how restaurants and cafes in St. Paul cannot allow their diners to bring alcohol-based beverages with them if dining on an outside deck or patio. The reason diners can't bring their drinks with them is because - according to the MRSNKT story - the law requires business owners to buy a
SECOND OUTDOOR LIQUOR LICENSE in order to legally allow their customers to drink liquor with their meal while seated outdoors.

And some people think that I unfairly criticize the abundance of onerous and restrictive regulations that not only keep new businesses from opening in St. Paul, but also burden the already existing businesses struggling to stay open.

Of course no St. Paul City Drama would be complete without input from one of my favorite Little Stalinists, St. Paul City Asshat, the pot-bellied, mooring rope-as-dental floss using Dave "Toothy Grin" Thune:

Council Member Dave Thune said the proposal [to make it easier to allow outdoor consumption of alcoholic beverages] has some good attributes, but he wants to make sure it doesn't get abused.

Oh, good Christ yes, Toothy, keep those restrictive reigns secure and tight. Since we in Minnesota have 70 degree weather all year long, the privilege of sipping a glass of wine or a cocktail cannot be allowed to reach "epidemic" proportions. Keep thinking up new "licenses" and fees that business owners must pay before they allow such a heinous act as allowing their customers to have a cocktail with their meal while seated outside.

I'm shocked the so-called city leaders of St. Paul haven't banned outdoor patio and deck smoking. Why, someone down the block might get a whiff of a molecule of cigarette smoke and come to believe that the air isn't perfectly pure and clean. Or maybe start thinking that that molecular particle whiff they inhaled will kill them. After all, the specious and refrain from the Militant No-Smoking Crowd is that there is no safe level of second-hand smoke. This is patently false.

And civic leaders wonder why downtown St. Paul is ghost town? Let downtown die, pave it over and turn it into a cemetery.

McCain Picks Wright As VP Candidate

Republican John McCain names Rev. Wright as VP choice.

New Orleans, LA
- Republican candidate for president and United States Senator John McCain shocked the political world today by announcing his selection of Rev. Jeremiah Wright as his Vice Presidential running mate. Wright was the controversial minister of the church attended by McCain's potential Democrat presidential candidate challenger and U.S. Illinois Senator Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.

McCain made the announcement while at a campaign stop in New Orleans, LA in an area hit hard by hurricane Katrina, saying "I am proud that Rev. Wright has accepted my offer to be my Vice President."

Reporters peppered the Arizona Senator with questions why he chose Wright. "This is just another of my poking the Republican party in the eye with a sharp stick," giggled McCain, "I like stirring the pot like this because I'm a Maverick, damn it."

Wright, who admitted he was as shocked as anyone being offered part of the McCain ticket, said, "It took a few moments for me to accept his offer, but I figured now that I retired from the church I have nothing better to do."

Sofa Davenport, McCain spokeswoman, said the selection of Wright is based on appealing and bringing to the McCain campaign, "the bitter vote."

A reporter caught up with former Republican presidential candidate and ex Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney just as he exited a Cost Cutters. Romney was considered to be on the so-called "short list" of VP possibilities for McCain. Romney, reacting to news that McCain has selected Wright said, "Yeah, ironically enough this news does make me bitter."

Downtown St. Paul Has A Problem?

The story and headline: What's wrong with downtown? By Gita Sitaramiah of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, aka Twincities.com. Do a search on the title if the link brings you to a "register for free before we let you read this story" page.

Fifty civic boosters sounded off Thursday about downtown St. Paul.

Among the concerns mentioned: A lack of retail and nightlife, too many panhandlers loitering, some decrepit buildings, no "real" grocery store and not enough incentives for businesses to set up shop.

SHOCKING! No one, and I mean no one, could have possibly predicted that onerous and increased business and property taxes, price increases for fees and licenses and a no-smoking ban could possibly result in businesses closing and others moving to more tax-friendly suburbs. SHOCKING! A GREAT MYSTERY to be sure!

Nope - no one could have possibly guessed, in their worst case scenario, that higher property taxes, higher business taxes and onerous regulations would have a negative effect on attracting new businesses and help continue the operating of current businesses. No one could have seen this coming. No one.

Gas Costs More Under Democrats

Politico writer Martin Kady, II cites the below information for the price of a gallon of gas from the U.S. Department of Energy:

The price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline in January 2001 when George W. Bush took his oath of office was $1.46.

The price for a gallon of gas when the Republicans lost their majority in November 2006 was $2.19.

The price for a gallon of gas in January 2007, when the Democrat Majority and Speakeress
Nanny Pelosi were sworn into office, was $2.30.

The average price for a gallon of gas today is around $3.50.

So, from when Bush took office in January 2001 to January 2007 when the Democrats were sworn into office - six years years later - the price per gallon increased by .73 cents, or an increase of .12 cents per year.

In a little over one year, from January 2007 to April 2008, the price per gallon has increased by $1.20 with a Democrat majority.

Hmmmmmm...Interesting. How 'bout a round of applause, ladies and gentlemen, for the energy and gasoline policies of the Democrats.

CNN Sued Over Cafferty's China Remarks

CNN is being sued for $1.3 Billion dollars for bigoted statements made by CNN Talking Head Jack Cafferty. al Reuters:

A Chinese primary school teacher and a beautician have filed a suit against CNN in New York over remarks they say insulted the Chinese people and are seeking $1.3 billion in compensation -- $1 per person in China, a Hong Kong newspaper reported.

The case against the Atlanta-based cable channel, its parent company Turner Broadcasting and Jack Cafferty, the offending commentator, comes after 14 lawyers launched a similar suit in Beijing alleging that Cafferty's remarks earlier this month violated the dignity and reputation of the Chinese people.

Cafferty said the United States imported Chinese-made "junk with the lead paint on them and the poisoned pet food" and added: "They're basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they've been for the last 50 years".

CNN said Cafferty was expressing an opinion about the Chinese government, but the Foreign Ministry demanded an apology and accused the network of trying to drive a wedge between the Chinese people and leadership.

The lawsuits come amid a wave of criticism in China against Western news outlets in the wake of recent unrest in Tibet and disruptions to the Beijing Olympic torch relay abroad.

At the very least, Cafferty should be suspended from his job - perhaps even fired by CNN, for his remarks. I'm just using the same standard the Liberals used with Don Imus and his "nappy headed ho" statement.

Besides, it seems that Cafferty's comments are...well, I would say they seem bitter, and I thought it was the Left that embraces and advocates understanding and appreciating different cultures, different customs, different beliefs - why, even "talking with our enemy." So why would Cafferty have said such mean-spirited and divisive words? Liberals don't behave like that, do they?

David Axelrod And Dr. Phil:
Separated At Birth?

David Axelrod - chief campaign strategist for the Barack Hussein Bin Laden Osama Obama campaign; and highly-paid platitude-dispensing charlatan Dr. Phil; separated at birth?

(L / R) Dr. Phil, David Axelrod

Pelosi Quotes Nonexistent Biblical Verses

Speakeress of the United States House of Representatives, Democrat Nanny "Man Hands" Pelosi has been caught, quoting Bible verses on more than one occasion...that don't exist. Oh, this is a funny one. CNS:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is fond of quoting a particular passage of Scripture. The quote, however, does not appear in the Bible and is "fictional," according to biblical scholars.

In her April 22 Earth Day news release, Pelosi said, "The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, 'To minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.' On this Earth Day, and every day, let us pledge to our children, and our children's children, that they will have clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and the opportunity to experience the wonders of nature."

Cybercast News Service repeatedly queried the speaker's office for two days to determine where the alleged Bible quote is found. Thus far, no one has responded.

Distinguished biblical scholars, however, cast doubt on the existence of the passage.

John J. Collins, the Holmes professor of Old Testament criticism and interpretation at Yale Divinity School, said he is totally unfamiliar with Pelosi's quotation.

"(It's) not one that I recognize," Collins told Cybercast News Service. "I assume that she means this is a paraphrase. But it wouldn't be a close paraphrase to anything I know of."

Claude Mariottini, a professor of Old Testament at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, told Cybercast News Service the passage not only doesn't exist - it's "fictional."

"It is not in the Bible," Mariottini said. "There is nothing that even approximates that."

    [...]

"The quote does not exist in the Old Testament, neither in the New Testament," said the Rev. Andreas Hock, a doctor of Scripture who teaches in the Roman Catholic archdiocese of Denver's St. John Vianney Seminary.

"Even in pieces or bits, (it) cannot be found in the Old Testament," he added.

Interestingly, Pelosi has mentioned the quote before, Mariottini noted.

"In truth, (she) has used this 'passage' in many different ways, and all of those usages have nothing to do with the Bible whatsoever," he said.

Bwa! Bwa ha ha ha! Could it be that Nanny is getting a little senile? She's not much younger than John McCain, and we all know how hold he is. Maybe the botox injections are taking their toll on Nanny's brain and she can no longer distinguish between reality and fairytale? Wait - that's every Democrat.

I wanted to give Pelosi the benefit of doubt, so I actually called her office and spoke with her about this above controversy and gave her a chance to explain herself. She said, and I quote, "Like the Bible says, 'no matter where you go, there you are.'"

The Ice Age Is Upon Us

In total contradiction to the Global Warming Alarmist Crowd, with their Cult Leader Albert Gore, Junior - the Man Who Would Not Be President - the good olde earth might just be heading into an ice age due to a lack of sun spot activity.

The Australian:

Disconcerting as it may be to true believers in global warming, the average temperature on Earth has remained steady or slowly declined during the past decade, despite the continued increase in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, and now the global temperature is falling precipitously.

All four agencies that track Earth's temperature (the Hadley Climate Research Unit in Britain, the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, the Christy group at the University of Alabama, and Remote Sensing Systems Inc in California) report that it cooled by about 0.7C in 2007. This is the fastest temperature change in the instrumental record and it puts us back where we were in 1930. If the temperature does not soon recover, we will have to conclude that global warming is over.

There is also plenty of anecdotal evidence that 2007 was exceptionally cold.

    [...]

The sunspot number follows a cycle of somewhat variable length, averaging 11 years. The most recent minimum was in March last year. The new cycle, No.24, was supposed to start soon after that, with a gradual build-up in sunspot numbers.

It didn't happen. The first sunspot appeared in January this year and lasted only two days. A tiny spot appeared last Monday but vanished within 24 hours. Another little spot appeared this Monday. Pray that there will be many more, and soon.

The reason this matters is that there is a close correlation between variations in the sunspot cycle and Earth's climate. The previous time a cycle was delayed like this was in the Dalton Minimum, an especially cold period that lasted several decades from 1790.

Northern winters became ferocious: in particular, the rout of Napoleon's Grand Army during the retreat from Moscow in 1812 was at least partly due to the lack of sunspots.

That the rapid temperature decline in 2007 coincided with the failure of cycle No.24 to begin on schedule is not proof of a causal connection but it is cause for concern.

It is time to put aside the global warming dogma, at least to begin contingency planning about what to do if we are moving into another little ice age, similar to the one that lasted from 1100 to 1850.

    [...]

All those urging action to curb global warming need to take off the blinkers and give some thought to what we should do if we are facing global cooling instead.

It will be difficult for people to face the truth when their reputations, careers, government grants or hopes for social change depend on global warming, but the fate of civilisation may be at stake.

In the famous words of Oliver Cromwell, "I beseech you, in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken."

Al Gore, Junior...mistaken?!?? 'Ya Think?

Sorcerers Stealing Or Shrinking Penises

From al-Reuters:

KINSHASA (Reuters) - Police in Congo have arrested 13 suspected sorcerers accused of using black magic to steal or shrink men's penises after a wave of panic and attempted lynchings triggered by the alleged witchcraft.

Reports of so-called penis snatching are not uncommon in West Africa, where belief in traditional religions and witchcraft remains widespread...

    [...]

Rumors of penis theft began circulating last week in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo's sprawling capital of some 8 million inhabitants. They quickly dominated radio call-in shows, with listeners advised to beware of fellow passengers in communal taxis wearing gold rings.

    [...]

Purported victims, 14 of whom were also detained by police, claimed that sorcerers simply touched them to make their genitals shrink or disappear, in what some residents said was an attempt to extort cash with the promise of a cure.

Why, this sounds like a case for The Hardly Boys!

Global Warming Blamed For Moose Decline

Moose are dying. The culprit...global warming, of course, how could you think it would be anything else?

From MacPaper:

Scientists who study the environment here, though, say disappearing moose and other changes are tangible evidence of global warming, making the region a research incubator that could improve understanding of the effects of climate change.

"Temperatures are increasing … more in the center of North America than on the edges, so it turns out that we are sitting in a sort of hot spot," says Lucinda Johnson, at the Natural Resources Research Institute (NRRI) in Duluth.

Add another alarming statistic to the Global Warming Alarmist playbook.

Hillary Wins Pennsylvania By 10 Points

I guessed that Hillary Clinton would win by Pennsylvania by 10 points, plus or minus one and darned if I didn't get it right. VOA:

Senator Hillary Clinton has kept her presidential bid alive with a nearly 10-point victory over Senator Barack Obama in Tuesday's crucial Pennsylvania primary.

    [...]

On the morning after the Pennsylvania primary, Senator Hillary Clinton summed up her feelings about her nearly 10-point win on the CBS Early Show.

She's starting to warm up a little, maybe I'll vote for her after all.

Obama Waffles And Whines

It seems rather than answering a tough question,
The Obamalith instead of answering a reporter about Jimmy Carter meeting with Hamas, Barack Hussein Obama just wanted to eat his waffle and be left alone. ABC:

"Senator, did you hear about Jimmy Carter's trip. He said he could get Hamas to negotiate?" a reporter asked Obama Monday as he ate his waffle, sausage and orange juice with Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., who ordered pancakes.

Obama responded: "Why is it that like I can't just eat my waffle?"

"I'm just asking.." the reporter said.

"I'm just gonna eat my waffle right now," Obama said.

Obama's waffle comments were used by the Republican Party to cast him as unwilling to answer tough questions about foreign policy issues, and held up as an example of his closed media relations style.

Well, yeah - the Republicans should use this situation to point out that Ted Kennedy's Poodle not only gets to duck the hard questions, he's treated with kid gloves when he does!

Hopefully, not a scene from the future:

White House Counsel: "President Obama, what are you going to do about [insert catastrophic issue here]?"

President Obamalith: "Can't I just eat my waffle? I'm just gonna eat my waffle right now."

Oh yeah, we're in good hands with him...

Obama Crowd Blaming Diebold Voter Machines! Surprised? Not So Much...

The Left - especially the Obama Cultists - are talking about the 16 Pennsylvania counties that use Diebold voting machines and how their results are unauditable!

GASP! What's this? Diebold playing a part in a primary election between two Democrat candidates? Why, I thought it was only when Republican candidates were involved that the Diebold machines were "rigged". So...now Hillary and the Clinton Crime Family has the ability and possess the code to program the Diebolds? Well, that's how the whining, crying and belly-aching sounds from the Obamaniacs.

Here's a fine thread full of Diebold Tin Foil Hat Wearers:

No wonder Obama figures Hillary will win. Diebold at work again. No paper trail at all.

So...are we to believe that Democrats hack Diebold results for their own candidates? Oh, No Barry-O, say it ain't so!

Here's a great Diebold conspiracy believer:

Obama doesn't seem to be the candidate that Diebold will install this year, if the fascist mouthpieces have their way.

Oh, I guess it was fine and dandy when The Chosen Democrat wins an election - then, and only then, there is no voter manipulation or Diebold voting problems. But the moment the Cult Leader of the Moment doesn't win, it's because of voter fraud and corruption.

It will be nice to see Hillary "selected" rather than elected in Pennsylvania. Where have I heard a similar refrain to that?

"Things that go bump in the night....," suggested the celebrity player.

"What is a Diebold voting machine," replied the Democrat game show contestant.

Ding, Ding, Ding Ding went the sound effects indicating the Democrat contestant answered correctly.

Pennsylvania

While I am actually writing this around 7PM Tuesday night, it has a Wednesday morning timestamp. As of the real time, various news reports have Hillary Clinton 4-8 points ahead of Barack Hussein Bin Obama Bin Laden.

** UPDATE: 8PM Central Time, April 22, 2008: ABC News projects Hillary the winner of Pennsylvania. **

Clinton leading Obama 52-48 in early exit polling. News Room America

Early exit polling reported by the MSNBC network suggested that 49 percent of Pennsylvania Democrats believed that change -- Obama's strong suit -- was the most important quality for November's election. AFP

Al Gore Doesn't Want To Intrude Into
The Energy Use Of His Rich Friends

Why did Global Warming Alarmist and Huckster, and the Man Who Would Not Be President, Albert Gore, Junior, in a recent
interview with The Sun say that he would never want to push his eco-beliefs onto his wealthy friends and the he would never ask or expect them to make sacrifices that would benefit the environment? Why, it sure sounds rather strange for someone who claims that so-called global warming could negatively affect the world for decades and with untold various disasters.

But while Gore wants you and me to reduce our standard of living, he has no expectation that his elitist cronies practice the same:

The man who is now as much part of the Hollywood Establishment as he was a political player with the Democratic Party is very careful not to upset any of his celebrity friends.

He wouldn’t dream of suggesting that their lavish jet-setting and gas-guzzling lifestyles could be reined in for the good of the environment.

When we point out that David Beckham has recently been given the dubious title of having the worst carbon footprint in history – clocking up enough air miles to fly to the moon and owning 15 gas-guzzling cars, Mr Gore shifts uncomfortably in his seat.

He knows what is coming next.

When asked what he would say to the football icon – a hero to millions – about his impact on the environment, Mr Gore refuses to be drawn.

He gives a huge belly-laugh at the notion that Posh and Becks could invest in an environmentally-friendly hybrid car such as a Toyota Prius.

He careful considers his answer before saying: “I don’t think that’s my place. I don’t want to get into personally criticising anyone.”

Recall the information from the Daily Mail, July 2007:

One hour in a Gulfstream jet burns as much fuel as driving a family car for a year.

It's not HIS place to criticize? Uh, isn't this what he's spent his entire life doing, especially with respect to his Global Warming Alarmist role?

My long-running standard test here, as regular readers know, is flipping the standards used by Liberals and applying it back onto themselves and their ideology. Let's do this with the issue of so-called global warming: Would anyone - especially anyone on the Left - even consider that so-called global warming posed a threat if the cheerleader crusading against global warming was former Vice President Dan Quayle instead of Junior Gore? Case closed pending new information.

Not Enough Pepper

You may be familiar with "Pepper...And Salt," the only comic strip appearing in the Wall Street Journal. It offers wry wit and observations that often has a political or economic thrust.

Well, sometimes I think the comic needs to push the envelope a bit more. So, from time to time - when the moment hits me - I'll be presenting my slightly altered version of "Pepper...And Salt".

Caution: Contains adult themes and language:

UPDATE / VENUE CHANGE:

If I would spent one more second analyzing it, I wouldn't have reproduced my altered "Pepper-Salt" cartoon here. It's not that I don't think it's funny, I do - nor do I think it's in bad taste. However, I should have been more cognizant of the language. The cartoon now can be found by clicking here.

The Canadiens wrapped up their series 4-3 with Baaawston by winning in Montreal Monday night.

The Dallas Stars won their series 4-2, beating the Ducks 4-1 Monday night in Anaheim.

Sharks vs Flames tied 3 games apiece. Game 7 is tongiht in San Jose. I'm picking the Flames 3-2 over the Sharks.

The Washington Capitals and Philly Flyers are tied 3-3, Game 7 tonight in Washington. I really, really want to see the Flyers win...but I'm going to predict a 3-2 game loss for Philly.

Obama Pretends To Drink Beer

Via The Australian:

BARACK Obama has come out swinging on the eve of the latest vote in the tortuous choice for the presidential ticket for the Democratic nomination, one that could seal the end of Hillary Clinton's fight for the nomination.

    [...]

"Look, our campaign's not perfect. There've been times where, you know, if you get elbowed enough, eventually you start elbowing back."

In related news, The Obamalith pretended he was just regular folks by pretending to drink a beer. Honest! The below AFP credited photo accompanies the above linked story with the description:
Barack Obama samples beer at Bethlehem Brew Works during a visit to Pennsylvania.

"I bet sea turtle meat goes good with this thing called...beer...it's beer you call it?"

Pennsylvania Prediction

Even if she loses Pennsylvania, Hillary Clinton isn't going anywhere. She's going all the way to the Denver Convention.

I've occasionally made some primary and caucus predictions, so in keeping with those silly guesses - most of which I've predicted accurately - I'll say Hillary wins Pennsylvania by....10 points, plus or minus a point.

This post is being time-stamped for Tuesday, but the below stories were tracking the noted headlines around 6PM Central time on Monday, April 21:

Hillary 51, Obama 44. AP

Jimmy Carter Named Ambassador To Hamas

Well, it's official. Jimmy Carter, the Worst.President.Ever is now the Ambassador to Hamas. Think about this. This is insane. He is a Hamas mouthpiece. Outrageous!

He gave a speech on behalf of Hamas. Some video of Carter's speech can be seen here.

His actions shouldn't surprise us, really - he's been relegated to obscurity since his disastrous landslide loss to Ronald Regan - yet he returns from time to time acting on behalf of Terrorist Sympathizers and America-bashers. Another angry, bitter Democrat. Who could have known...who could have known?

If the next president is a Democrat, boy it sure would be nice to see reports of George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush on foreign soil giving speeches about how terrible the U.S. is under the current Democrat Administration. But no Republican ever does this, they have too much class.

The Democrats Are Sad And Angry

You read the post title and asked yourself, "well...when aren't they?" And you'd be right.

In this instance, I am referring to the Obamaniacs who are angry and sad that Hillary Clinton will appear on Larry King and Keith Olberwiener tonight. She may turn up on other broadcast and cable outlets.

My, isn't that convenient for her? That these programs were made available to her? Even more shocking, the Obamaheads don't think that Hillary getting this airtime is fair. Awwwwww, poor little misfits, I feel your pain. Barack Hussein Obama The Obamalith will only be on one program Monday night.

The hypocrisy here is so rich, being that so many Obamaniacs love the Olberwiener. Perhaps he'll be discarded into the pile of Liberal Traitors that includes CNN, ABC, CBS, Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopolous and others who don't have The Obamalith Chip Implant.

See, there's nothing that Hillary and Bill did to any Republican that they're not doing to Obama. The only difference is that the Clinton War Marchine is attacking another Democrat that is blindly worshipped by his cult followers. And the Obamaniacs - in what is by all appearances is their suffering from an acute organic medical disease - somehow want others to understand, sympathize and commiserate with them. Well, that's not how it works.

Remember, many of the former Obamaniacs were Hillary Clinton supporters and even a more sizable population were blind supporters of Bubba when he was the president. Now, these same little troglodytes feign and fake self-righteous outrage when the tactics they used against Republicans is turned around and used on one of their own candidates?

Nancy Pelosi Visits Minnesota

Oh, the Democrat welcoming committee consisting of Minnesota's finest Socialists was out at the Minneapolis Airport at 5AM Monday morning, rolling out a red carpet, greeting Nanny Pelosi with a plate of warm lutefisk and fresh coffee cake. Yum, yum - it doesn't get better than that, does it?

She was in Minnesota campaigning for one of her littler poodles who's up for re-election, Minnesota Democrat Congressman Tim Walz. Pelosi must owe Walz some campaign favors, paying him back for all the times he voted with the strict Democrat Politburo Majority. MN Pubic Radio:

Democratic U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was in Minneapolis this morning to talk to Minnesota veterans.

    [...]

U.S. Rep. Tim Walz, a DFLer who represents Minnesota's 1st Congressional District, organized and moderated the discussion. Walz is up for re-election this year, and Pelosi is also hosting a fundraiser for him while she's in the Twin Cities.

Nanny isn't fooling anybody...

He will tell us what to do and when to do it.
He knows all.
He can do everything.
He is never to be questioned or doubted. Heresy will be abolished and heretics will be removed.
Trust In Him.

Pay no attention that Obama is an elitist, a snob.

For He is The Obamalith.

Young At Heart Chorus

Why haven't I heard about this group before? They're great! They being The Young At Heart Chorus, a musical group that:

...began in 1982 the members all lived in an elderly housing project in Northampton, MA called the Walter Salvo House. The first group included elders who lived through both World Wars. One of our members had fought in the Battle of the Somme as a 16 year old and another, Anna Main, lost her husband in the First World War. Anna was a stand-up comic who at 88 told jokes that only she could get away with. She sang with us until she was 100.

    [...]

The current performers in Young@Heart range in age from 72 to 88. There are some with prior professional theater or music experience, others who have performed extensively on the amateur level, and some who never stepped onto a stage before turning eighty. None of the current performers of Y@H were part of the original group that formed in 1982, but they have kept alive the spirit of the early pioneers and continue to push the group into glorious new directions.

The guy in the white suit in the first video - ala John Travolta - is Fred Knittle whose voice is off-the-charts fantastic. Mr. Knittle suffers from congestive heart failure, but you'd never know it by his voice.

If you can find it with adequate volume, check out Knittle's version of Coldplays "Fix You" on the internet, it is fantastic. The Knittle videos I've seen all had rather low audio volume - not bad quality audio - not just loud enough. This one is the best I ran across.

The first selection below is the group's rendition of the Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive" / Gloria Gaynor "I Will Survive" medley --- and it's great!

The below video is the Young At Heart Chorus' version of the Talking Heads hit "Road To Nowhere."

And here's another performance that is a MUST SEE, the link to the Y@HC version of the Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated."

Michelle Obama And Her Spoons

Michelle Obama tells us about the silver spoons in her family. The Caucus Blogs NY Times:

“Tell me about your elite upbringing on the South Side of Chicago. How many silver spoons in your mouth?” [asked Stephen Colbert on his program].

“We had four spoons,” deadpanned Mrs. Obama during her late night talk show debut.

She added: “And then my father got a raise at the plant, and we had five spoons.”

Man, she's funny - a regular Totie Fields.

No wife of a Republican candidate could get away with that without being on the receiving end of merciless ridicule and low-rent barbs thrown over and over by the Rabid Insane Liberal Clown Posse.

Michelle isn't late for one of her four times per week
work-out sessions with her personal fitness trainer, is she?

Das Puck

Well...the Colorado Avalanche beat the Minnesota Wild 2-1 Saturday night, winning the series 4-2.

The eyebrow-raising statistic coming out of this series being noted by sportswriters is that out of a possible 384.23 minutes of ice time in these six games, the Wild only led in scoring for 4 minutes, and 31 seconds. Any team can be doing a lot right on offense and defense, but if you can't sustain a lead - especially in hockey - beyond a few minutes, the chances of winning are...just.not.there.

Colorado deserved to win, they outplayed the Wild. Avalanche fans - as passionate as are Wild fans - must have had partied well into the night in Denver with their home win. The Avalanche are to be congratulated as is their goalie Jose Theodore. If his goal-stopping-streak continues through the playoffs - and there's nothing saying it shouldn't - Colorado seems unbeatable.

Last week in the Montreal Canadiens versus Baaawston Bruins series, Baaawston trailed 1-3. It was thought to be a short matter of time and work until Montreal eliminated them. The Bruins rallied back with damn impressive play tying the series 3-3 with game seven on Monday in Montreal, eh. 6PM. I'm sayin' Montral wins at home.

The Detroit Red Wings wrapped up their series 4-2 by a win of 3-0 in Nashville this afternoon.

San Jose leading Calgary 3-2 in their series. Game 6 tonight in Calgary, 7PM.

Dallas leading the Ducks 3-2 in their series. Ducks in Steerland tonight, 8PM.

The teams over the past week I said would be eliminated, the Devils, Baaawson, Washington and the Ducks, only the Devils have been eliminated. The others are making comebacks.

I have to think that Dallas brings it to an end tonight, winning at home, don't you?

Also, I have to think Calgary closes it up at home against the Sharks, providing an abundant opportunity for Calgarians - is that the right term - to be still be partying at sunrise and hungover all day Monday.

Game 6 of the Flyers vs Capitals Monday night in Philly, Flyers ahead in the series, 3-2.

As is teh Usual, NHL.com has all the 411, baaybeeeee! (in my best Dick Vitale impression).
