RNC Protester Crowd Estimate Varies

As I wrote the other day, the actual number of RNC protesters in St. Paul is being reported with considerable differences. In the previously linked story, the crowd was estimated anywhere between 5,000-10,000; or, 8,000-10,000. A far, far cry from what the protester/terrorists had hoped for, which was a crowd of 50,000.

Now comes a story from APee which simply puts the crowd count at "thousands
." Heh, pretty soon it will be down to, "oh, maybe a few hundred."

CNN reports that hundreds will be formally charged for actions of property damage, assault and other crimes. The CNN story notes that 120 protesters are being held on felony charges. Huh...so much for those peace-loving, diplomacy-advocating Liberal protesters.

Local television coverage provided another few moments of hilarious video when a loud-mouthed protester was flapping his jaws only to be pepper sprayed by police. He fell to the ground, crying, rubbing his eyes. Oh...I laughed, and laughed, and laughed and coughed up a lung. Seeing protesters getting pepper sprayed...now That's Entertainment!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, mommy writes a letter defending her 17-year old son who allegedly got beat up by the cops. Maybe...maybe the kid didn't get involved in protesting violently...maybe. What is it about Liberals that they always have to have mommy fight their battles for them? Hey, when you enter the lions den there's a good chance you'll be bitten, even if you're not doing anything wrong and even when you don't provoke the lions. Too bad, not sad.

Wall St. Journal Blog reports that downtown St. Paul nightlife is dead considering the influx of tourists and those in town for the convention. Downtown St. Paul is always dead because The Mayor Of St. Tumbleweed and His Merry Band of Little Socialists have sucked the nightlife out of the city by taxing businesses, bars, restaurants and other venues out of existence.

If I were getting paid to write about it, I'd be right downtown St. Paul, front and center with my camera, getting firsthand accounts of all the peaceful frivolity, the jocular pepper-spraying of unwashed protesters and other activities.

Wednesday night I may go out and hit a few St. Paul bars and see how things are going. I'll report what I find on Thursday.

Remember, "A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants
." But getting hit with pepper spray makes you cry!

Oh those crazy peaceniks nothing like assaulting people and damaging property to send the message of peace on Earth. They worship peace so much, they'll smash your head to prove it. Won't it be great when the Chosen One is anointed king. It will be an end to all wars. There will be no more hurricanes or tornados. Everyone will be millionaires and the millennium can begin. Just think how wonderful it will be... well that is until you get your head smashed in in the name of peace.

Peace out.

Please go down there and take a piss on the anarchists for me! It would be cool too if we could sick a pack of Timber Wolves on them (aka "Minnesota Welcoming Committee.)

p.s.: "The Chiden" will be here tomorrow morning for campaign stop. Can't wait to hear what this idiot will spew. I hear it is supposed to be military related; as Virginia Beach is very pro-military. McCain's ex-wife and kids live here too.

I could not have put it better myself, Molson. You have a knack for putting into one paragraph what it takes me several to say. That is indeed a very special talent. Great to hear from you, as always!

I'm a lover, not a violent protester.

I looooooooooooove seeing these asshats nailed with pepper spray and mace. They instantly hit the ground and cry like the spoiled children that they are.

Enjoy "The Children" tomorrow. How I don't envy you with them appearing. Ugh!

It's not often that I see people get so excited to hear about someone getting pepper-sprayed. I have opinions, and you can disagree with them, and if your disagreement gets violent, you might need to be subdued w/ pepper spray, but I sure wouldn't be happy about it. The whole situation is sad: we're at war, a sizable fraction of the country supports that war, some of the protesters became violent, those protesters, and perhaps some nonviolent ones, got pepper-sprayed. What is there to be happy about? And in the mix of all this, in your attempt to be provocative you've conflated the issues of crowd violence and foreign policy. Whether the people who believe in it behave well during protests or not, peace between civilizations in the highest aspiration we can strive for.

GH,

and if your disagreement gets violent, you might need to be subdued w/ pepper spray, but I sure wouldn't be happy about it.

-- So you endorse violent behavior?

peace between civilizations in the highest aspiration we can strive for.

-- I agree with you, but what does one do when the goal of others is to kill you, harm you or slice off your head?

You miss my overall point: some of the protesters are protesting using very violent methods. This same group is made up of the people who profess being able to reconcile difference through diplomacy and non-violent means. You don't find that hypocritical? I do.

And yes, I think it is HILARIOUS when a violent protester protesting against "an unjust war", who professes that "peace is the answer" is pepper-sprayed because he or she uses violent methods of protesting. It is the pot calling the kettle black and most egregious example of hypocrisy.
