Jim Webb, "McCain should calm down"
on his Military Service

Here we go, we're off to the same nasty tactic that the Democrats used in the 1992 and 1996 presidential elections. That being, when the Democrat presidential candidate has NO MILITARY EXPERIENCE and the Republican candidate does, ask the Republican not to mention it.

We saw this when George H.W. Bush ran against draft-dodger Bill Clinton in 1992. We saw this again when Bob Dole ran in 1996. Both H.W. Bush and Dole were asked - and they acquiesced - to downplay and not mention their Military service because...well, because Bubba was a draft-dodger.

Now we have Virginia's Junior Senator, Democrat Jim "JimBob BobbyJim Jimbo BobJim Webb" pulling the same stunt with John McCain. The Hill:

"John McCain's my long-time friend, if that is one area that I would ask him to calm down on, it`s that, don't be standing up and uttering your political views and implying that all the people in the military support them because they don't, any more than when the Democrats have political issues during the Vietnam War. Let's get the politics out of the military, take care of our military people, or have our political arguments in other areas."

That is rich, rich language coming from Webb, the man who egregiously and shamelessly exploited the military and the War in Iraq by wearing his son's combat boots during his campaign for office. Webb made sure that wherever he went on his campaign trail that he wore his son's combat boots. He never appeared in public not wearing them.

Barack Hussein Obama, Junior has zero political experience. His supporters tout his experience as a community organizer. What a joke. While John McCain was serving his country, Obama was a pothead and snorting and smoking cocaine.

A bit later, Obama as a "community organizer" in Chicago, concerned himself with such important tasks such as making sure that when neighbors congregated in the basement of the local community center there was enough Kool-Aid and Keebler Cookies to go around and that his Power Point presentations dealing with property easements, potholes and littering went off without a hitch.

Look, if in John Kerry's 2004 campaign - had he been a POW during Vietnam - he would have been elected as president. There's no doubt in my mind that Kerry would have exploited and sensationalized this. Hell, every chance he got he reminded the American public - endlessly - that "he served in Vietnam."

Note To John McCain: Do not, under any circumstances, fall into the trap of downplaying and not talking about your Military Service or your status as a POW. Do not allow The Left to intimidate you in this respect. If you do this, you can only look forward to the same election results as H.W. Bush in 1992 and Bob Dole in 1996.

Senator McCain, do not fall into this trap of allowing and agreeing the Obamaniacs to define you and make you feel ashamed about your Military Service. You cannot "play nice" with these people.

In 2004 Military Service meant something purported The Left, because Kerry had actual overseas experience, so went their logic, and George W. Bush didn't. But now, because Obama has no Military experience and McCain does, The Left seeks to downplay the issue and want McCain to comply with their "leveling the playing field."

Do not - do not - allow The Left to dictate that you should downplay your Military service, Senator McCain, only because their candidate has none.

It has always seemed to me that McCain was another Bob Doel from the onset. That is one of the reasons that I cannot get behind him as I need to, I just find more reasons NOT to vote for the Illinois Tool.

Is it too much to ask that we get candidates that will stand up for themselves? for us? For America?

We have the moral high ground and we wander around acting ashamed... Be conservative and be proud of it.

Two Dogs - sadly I am in the same boat as you fine yourself in. I need reasons to not vote for Obama. McCain gives me little to vote for him. I will probably sit this election out. My bad, I know, but...the RINOs did this to themselves.

Arc - you nailed it. But the uber-Libs and too many RINOs have spent years, decades, in promoting the BS message that America is bad. They are the Blame America crowd, and they have a healthy following. Sick and sad, isn't it?

OK so we sit out an election, and no one notices right... what if we wrote in? Can you see it now a campaign for "None of the Above?"

I won’t vote for socialism, period… And I can’t seem to swallow the notion that McCain is anything more than an appeaser of the left, and that brings me back to socialism…

Webb telling McCain to tone it down? That's rich:

That is indeed the cycle in the selection of the two major parties this year. It is a conundrum.

Pat R. - thanks for a great link. Love the photo of Webb and his son's boots. There's nothing quite like Liberal exploitation is there, and done by one's own dad!
