New York Times Smears John McCain

The New York Times smears John McCain.

If the link brings you to a "sign-up for free before you can read the story" just search on the story title: For McCain, Self-Confidence on Ethics Poses Its Own Risk written by Jim Rutenberg, Marilyn W. Thompson, David D. Kirkpatrick and Stephen Labaton.

Damn, it took four writers to create all that fiction? Not a very imaginative or creative group of writers, huh? Give me a bowl of The Chronic and I can crank out better fiction than the NYT story and I'll throw in space aliens, Roswell and the mysterious multi-level bases under Dulce and it will all be believable!

The NYT story contains old information that they have been sitting on since at least this past December.

The NYT piece quotes "anonymous" sources! Oooooooooooh - mysterious figures wearing trench coats hiding in the shadows of a closed parking ramp whispering to "reporters". There are no hard facts or evidence in the story. The story implies there was some sort of physical "affair" between McCain and lobbyist Vicki Iseman when in fact, there is no proof of such thing.

The big question is why this story is receiving the attention that it's getting. The NYT needs to prove it is still relevant in today's new media - but it is not. The NYT seeks to call attention to itself while its subscription rate continues to decline and more and more NYT employees are laid off and job cuts are made.

The NYT is a dying institution and its management knows this.

Here is how McCain needs to handle this:

After today, stop talking about it, stop answering all questions about it, put it behind you and don't let anyone put you back on the defensive again with this story. In short, deflect it in the manner Bill Clinton deflected issues he chose to no longer discuss and how he refused to answer questions he no longer wanted to answer. It's that simple.

Comments:
Is the NYT single handedly trying to get McCain elected president or are the editors there so stupid as to be barely capable of walking on their hind legs?

Great question Molson. One could almost say that the NYT is actively campaigning FOR McCain, aren't they! And this BS over (post above) if McCain is a "legitimate US Citizen"...what a pile of manure from the NYT. They are a joke. I take "MAD" magazine more seriously than I do the Slimes.
