California Wants To Control Home Climate

Socialism, like rust, never sleeps.

From IHT:

Next year in California, state regulators are likely to have the emergency power to control individual thermostats, sending temperatures up or down through a radio-controlled device that will be required in new or substantially modified houses and buildings to manage electricity shortages.

    [...]

The changes would allow utilities to adjust customers' preset temperatures when the price of electricity is soaring. Customers could override the utilities' suggested temperatures. But in emergencies, the utilities could override customers' wishes.

    [...]

"You realize there are times - very rarely, once every few years - when you would be subject to a rotating outage and everything would crash including your computer and traffic lights, and you don't want to do that," said Arthur Rosenfeld, a member of the energy commission.

    [...]

"This is an outrage," one Californian said in an e-mail message to Rosenfeld. "We need to build new facilities to handle the growth in this state, not become Big Brother to the citizens of California."

From cradle to grave, to what we eat, what we drive, our air travel...now, to our home temperatures. There's nothing like quite like Socialism, the kind that give Democrats a wet dream.

Comments:
I love it when liberals ram nine inches of steaming kielbasa right up the gigi of other liberals. Why not build another power plant or twenty? Not in CA. Might kill a snail. Well you get what you vote for and CA votes for over the top whiny ass pussy liberals. Peloshit is a fine example of CA voters in action. All I can say is reap it MF's. Reap it. Too bad for the one or two conservatives in CA though. You have my sympathies.

We cannot risk killing a snail or some type of exotic weed for power for the people. That would be wrong.

Yeah, Cali gets what it asks for in so many ways. They made their bed with the Liberals, now let 'em sleep in it.
