John McCain And Ketchup Man
Were on Sunday's "Meet The Press"
Kerry - who served in Vietnam - was asked by host Tim Russert if he saw a U.S. Military presence in Iraq after 2008. Kerry - who served in Vietnam - said he did:
MR. RUSSERT: President Bush said we will have an enduring relationship with Iraq and that there’ll be troops in Iraq after his presidency. Do you agree?
SEN. KERRY: Yes.
MR. RUSSERT: To both?
SEN. KERRY: We should have an enduring relationship, hopefully with an Iraq that is able to stand up and define itself in the way that I said. The question is how do you get there, Tim? And what treasure do you expend in getting there? I believe we will, obviously, providing that there hasn’t been a complete implosion and we’re not asked to leave.
By the way, Mr. Kerry - on Jan. 30, 2005 you said the following to Tim Russert on "Meet The Press":
MR. RUSSERT: Would you sign Form 180?
SEN. KERRY: But everything, Tim...
MR. RUSSERT: Would you sign Form 180?
SEN. KERRY: Yes, I will. But everything that we put in it, Tim--everything we put in--I mean, everything that was out was a full documentation of all of the medical records, all of the fitness reports.

You won't get much of an argument from me on any politician's "Campaign promises." Both parties promise the world on the campaign trail. I hold them accountable after they are elected and apply the same standard to Repubs that I do to Libs.
Kerry is on record as a Senator - as are many other Dems during the Clinton Admin - of all "yessing" the fact that Hussein was dangerous and developing nuclear weapons and other WMDS. The difference is, they did nothing about it. Bush takes office and did something about it - and I believe he would have taken the same action had 9-11 not happened.
Where is Kerry's full disclosure of 180? We haven't seen it. We prob never will.
You're taking Greenspans comment out of context and only reading the headlines. Dig into it, my friend.
when you consider the resources tied up in iraq we may need elsewhere, it all just gets sillier/
Sorry Rev, with regard to Iraq: I cannot be as pessimistic or pacifistic as you are on this matter. Vietnam is repeating itself in the ways that politicians are micro-managing the war. If you (not you specifically) want another Vietnam, then the Dems will get it by their actions and what they are doing. It's sad...really sad, in a tragic way - not silly.
