Deporting An Illegal Immigrant?

The driver who killed two Virginia Beach teens last week may have been driving while intoxicated at the time of the fatal accident.
Alfredo Ramos, 22, who is facing two manslaughter charges, admitted in his court appearance on Monday that he is in the country illegally from Mexico. Though police say speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the fatal accident, they have not charged him with driving while intoxicated or driving under the influence.
According to a Virginia Beach police spokesman, Ramos was driving westbound on Virginia Beach Boulevard on Friday night when he rear-ended another car that was stopped at a red light at Kings Grant Road. The two girls in the car -- Allison Kunhardt, 17, and Tessa Tranchant, 16 -- were pinned in their vehicle and died from their injuries.
Court records show that Ramos has at least two prior convictions this year -- one for DUI in Chesapeake and one for public drunkenness in Virginia Beach. He was also convicted for public drunkenness in Chesapeake last year.

WTKR asks the question, "Should An Illegal Immigrant Be Deported If They Are Convicted Of Any Crime? " The short answer is "yes".
According to court records, Alfredo has a criminal history, all misdemeanors. In October 2006, Ramos was charged with drunk in public. In November 2007, [sic] [the article does state "2007", however I have to presume they meant 2006 - Drake] he was charged with driving without a license, identity theft, no seat belt, and no insurance. In January 2007, he was charged with pubic swearing and intoxication.
The arresting officer commented in his report that Ramos "almost ran him down".
He was given a 90 day suspended sentence, fined $250, had his drivers' license suspended, and he ordered to participate in ASAP, an alcohol awareness program.
Court documents also revealed that Ramos didn't actually have a valid driver's license (he was caught with a fake one), had paid a Florida company $200 dollars for a "Mexican ID", and he blew a .14 BAC - almost twice the legal limit.
Also, 10 On Your Side has learned that law-enforcement officials in Chesapeake never informed Immigration and Customs Enforcement about Ramos' residence status in the U.S. This contrasts with Virginia Beach, whose authorities notified ICE immediately after Ramos was arrested.
Ramos, who speaks no English, remains in jail with no bond.
And what is our Congress, President and Justice System doing about it?
